" will get a 1099 from the brokerage holding the 401(k) account (I checked)"   your 401k broker misinformed you . there is no 1099-R since you took no distribution.    @DennisHank
I guess I didn’t realize that I was gonna automatically go through when the taxes were accepted cause I already went on the IRS website and pay directly so now they took it out twice

Help, I am a bit confused.   Both of my children are age 24 or older, so they are no longer dependents. They both attended college or post-graduate last year. The institutions issued 1098T forms to each of them. I took distributions from their 529 plans to help cover expenses, but (and this might have been a mistake), I took the distributions, so the 1099Q forms were issued in my TIN.  For my older son's distribution, I took the $10,000 distribution for student loans, there's no checkmark in the 1099Q (I don't think there's a spot for it in the 1099Q), but I selected it. But I see no way in TurboTax to declare that's what I did, and as a result about $3307 is presently showing as taxable income.   How do I fix this? In particular, how do I declare that I used $10,000 to repay a student loan, and have it removed from my taxable income?

Time to enter x's education expenses Required books and materials from the school   Optional books and materials from the school   Back Continue   I'm pasting the screen within TurboTax 2025 here where historically you can enter room & board for off campus housing as well as computer purchases.  For the life of me I can't locate those options in TurboTax 2025 desktop version.  This screen grab is from after first inputting a 1099-Q which is greater than the total reflected on the corresponding 1098-T from a given university where the difference in my case is for off campus housing & food which are below the university's COA as published by their financial aid office so those expenses are qualified education expenses and there should be a spot to enter them as there has always been one in the past. Help!!

How did you select standard deduction?   Are you filing married filing separately and filing the same way as your spouse?   Ordinarily you do not "select" standard deduction or itemized deductions.  But if you somehow clicked on a choice:   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-credits-deductions/change-standard-deduction-itemized-vice-versa/L7evWtHhv_US_en_US?uid=m6cpww6g   Go to Federal>Deductions and Credits to explore the various deductions etc.

So my employer did not include my overtime to my w-2, so I'm having to go based off my final paystub. My paystub does show how much overtime I made over the year. So for the deductible overtime do I enter lets say $2000.00 for the year or $10/hr?
There is currently some sort of glitch with "pay with refund" that the tech team is working on.

I lived in Virginia in 2025 for almost 3 months and made income, then I moved to Washington state for the remainder of 2025z how do I file that I was a resident in 2 different states ?
I researched this and already tried. I had to do my taxes elsewhere this year.
For some reason I am not able to pay with my tax refund, I am eligible on the criteria to use my tax refund to cover the fee.
Go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Estimates and Other Taxes Paid>Other Income Taxes
where can i post my quarterly estimated taxes for 2025 that I paid ?
