I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE IRS/STATE
TurboTax does not receive any information from the IRS or your state after your return was filed, so no one at TurboTax knows about a letter you received from the IRS or the state.

If you have self-employment income for which you will pay self-employment tax for Social Security and Medicare, you will need to use online Premium software or any version of the desktop software download so that you can prepare a Schedule C for your business expenses.

If you weren’t paid $600 or more, a business isn’t required to send you a 1099-NEC, but you still need to report the income.
To enter your self-employment income not reported on a 1099-NEC:
Type “Schedule C” in the Search box
Select the “Jump to” link.
Answer the general questions about your business (or select Edit at the work summary screen).
At the Let’s get income for… screen, select Additional Income.
When in your account, select the Take Me to My Return button on the main screen.
If you did make $600 or more, contact the company or individual you worked for.

I appreciate your patience, trying to answer as simply as I can Upon leaving VA, which was my permanent residence until 9/5, I then used NH as my primary for CA paperwork as it is a travel nurse job, and I no longer had any legal ties to VA such as an apartment or job waiting for me. I stated about the lease to show it ended and not ongoing while I'm in CA). I appreciate your feedback on Live Chat and Live Full Service TY

If you are a company, and you hire another company to do work for you, you must report payments of more than $600 on a 1099-MISC or 1099-NEC (one copy to the IRS, one copy to the contractor, one copy for you). The contractor gives you a W-9 so that you will have their name, address and tax number for the 1099.
If you are a private person not in business, you do not need to issue a 1099 when you hire a contractor, and you don't need the W-9. Just file it somewhere and forget it.

Most box 14 items are notes for your information only. (A few items may be taxable in some states.) If there is no specific listing, choose Other or ignore it.
If you are a W-2 employee, and your mileage was reimbursed on an accountable plan (you prove your mileage with records), then the reimbursement is not taxable income. It is only reported in box 14 as a note for your information. If your mileage was not reimbursed on an accountable plan (you did not have to prove it with records) then the reimbursement should have already been added to your box 1 taxable wages and was subject to tax withholding. In that case, the box 14 amount is also only a note or reminder, and has no additional effect on your tax return.

You can either deduct
(a) state general sales tax OR
(b) state income tax.
If you choose to deduct state general sales tax, you can choose from two methods:
(i) add up all your sales tax from receipts OR
(ii) use the standard amount allowed by the IRS based on your income and your tax rate. If you use the standard amount method, you can on top of the standard method any sales tax you paid for the purchase of a motor vehicle, home, or substantial renovation to a home.
The problem is that gas tax is not considered sales tax. To be eligible for the deduction, a sales tax must be a percentage tax charged equally on all goods and services. Gasoline tax is a combination of many taxes and fees (cents per gallon federal excise tax + cents per gallon state excise tax + highway tax + other fees + maybe a percentage sales tax). That makes it not eligible to deduct as general sales taxes. The same is true for other special taxes such as on alcohol and tobacco.

I hate to keep asking for clarification, but I'm not getting the answers I need to understand.
From January 1 to Sept 2, you were a permanent resident of VA, and you worked in DC.
From Sept 5 to October 19, you lived in New Hampshire. At that time, did you consider New Hampshire to be your new permanent home (domicile), or did you still consider yourself domiciled in Virginia?
From October 20 through December 31, you were a travel nurse in California. At that time, did you consider New Hampshire to be your permanent home, or was Virginia your permanent home throughout that time? Or is California your new permanent home?
Your statement about completing a lease confuses me. If you had a lease in VA that had ended when you moved someplace else, you are probably not domiciled in VA after the lease ended.
From my guess about how you will answer these clarifications, you should be able to prepare your own return with Turbotax. (Especially since NH does not have a state income tax.) The Live Chat Assist and Live Full Service programs are certainly valuable for people who need them, although I have never used them.

@jsaint23 wrote: It should be interesting to see down the road, how badly TT's sales are impacted by this idiot decision. Probably not at all. Intuit's most profitable segment is their Global Business Solutions Group which does NOT include TurboTax. The Global Business Solutions Group revenue grew 16% and Credit Karma revenue grew 32%, while Tax groups came in last with revenue growing at 10%. Desktop units of TurboTax already declined 4% from 2024 to 2025. The LIVE service revenue grew the most at 47% with 24% growth in LIVE customers. If you ran this company, what would what be your primary focus?
