Can you clarify whether or not you actually FILED the return or did you just PRINT the return?      If you have not submitted it for e-filing yet, you can make changes.   If you did submit it, was it accepted yet?  Or what is the status of your return?      You may not need to do an amended return.   But if you do, you should wait until the original gets processed.

None of the other fixes worked, but holding down the control key does!  Its amusing that this is a problem that is being actively worked on.  Entering credit card data is certainly state of the art stuff.  Is there any adult supervision in the nursery school that is working on this?  Better yet is there any adult supervision of the people managing Turbo Tax.  I can sort of forgive problems with some of the tax nuances, but this one is just gross negligence.
If your amounts are significantly less, you will receive a refund for the difference.

Thank you! How do I add it in online version? I am opening it through Metlife to use the discount.   Can we create case for Turbotax support to look into this as well? I am asking this same question here from the time the session was opened in the morning (7 hours ago), and I still can't understand what do I do with this. I am afraid it will not be solved in 1 hour left till the end of the meeting.
I meant to ask if Form 8606 PART 1 Line 2   total basis value of zero means that the Roth IRA conversion amount would be 100% taxable.
I am using online version because I am connecting through Metlife to use the discount. Can I do it in online version?

Are you using the Desktop installed program or the Online version?    For Online you can access your account and returns from any computer.  How to view all your accounts https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/account-management/many-intuit-accounts-turbotax/L9aVfKS1Z_US_en_US?uid=ll5g6zcx It's common to end up with multiple accounts. First LOG OUT of whatever TurboTax account you're logged into right now. Then use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of user ID's for an email address. Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery/ If you used the Desktop CD/Download program then the only copy is on your computer and not saved or stored online.

Also, I discovered a few things: 1. For the credit to apply, I had to search for form 8881 and jump to that form. As soon as I did the $500 credit lowered my federal taxes due. 2. I didn't need to add Pension Plan, just Pension Plan Startup Costs 3. It looks like I'm getting $501 of credits because I added the $1 for startup costs.  Not sure how to get rid of that?

The mistake is not being able to input the value of the IRA. Robert is right that a zero balance would be simple; but, that isn't what you have. You will need to pay tax on that percentage we discussed earlier in the other thread. Once we get your IRA balance added.

The way I interpret the instructions for Form 4137, I don't see how Form 4173 could be used by a sole proprietor:   Use Form 4137 only to figure the social security and Medicare tax owed on tips you didn’t report to your employer, ...   I don't see how a a sole proprietor (someone who is treated as both employee and employer) can both know and not know that there are such tips.  If in their role as employer they claim to not know that they received tips by not including them on Schedule C, they can't then take the opposite position on Form 4173 in their role as employee and claim to know that there are such tips.  It would seems to be a form of estoppel.   Regarding TurboTax's message about not being able to take the deduction at this time, it refers to a possible future change in the tax laws, not anything under Intuit's control.
Can you clarify your questions? @paetonmartin160
Please refer to your MetLife plan benefits to obtain any information pertaining to the TurboTax filing fees. They will be best to advise for this situation.
How do I open this form to enter data? Double click on the line does not open the form to adjust income.

The 2024 was just the contribution and simple. The 2025 return is when things got messy. I just wanted to state what I thought was happening and clarify any issues.  No, the program is just not picking up the rest of your IRA so it is assigning the $14k basis to the amount rolled over. We have to get your 2025 value into the program.   Are you using desktop or online? I am seeing the issue in the desktop version and there is an easy fix. The IRA info Wks holds the key. If you are using desktop: Switch to Forms mode Locate the IRA Info Wks on the left side Go to Part IV, Line 18 Enter the 2025 value
