It's Feb. 14. Where is the update?  Should I file my taxes elsewhere?  How will you compensate me for my lost time and delayed refund?
@TerribleSoftwware One of those choices should be Other.  On the following screen, Enter any name you want for the person or institution that brokered the sale.

Since I'm the one who started this thread and reported that it was fixed for me on Thursday, I need to throw in my two cents.   First, the screen shot I attached here represents the fix.   This screen did not exist when I first reported the problem but now does for me.   I hope that everyone else will be able to see this soon.  Second, I have found the TT community forum questions like this invaluable to me over the years to answer questions I have.  So clearly TT needs to make this fix for all versions and roll it out but if you're here trying to sell other tax software......go away.
OBBB was passed in July 2025 and it's now the middle of Feb 2026. TT had all this time to work on the new changes. Why are other tax programs ready for this but not Turbo Tax?

So let me get this right. If one does not withhold State Tax on 1099 but pays in the yearly tax return, that extra State tax = Total State Tax - Withheld State Tax cannot be used to discount itemized deductions (line 5a) ?  If this is true, people withholding State taxes are paying far less due to higher itemized deductions ?

If you received a Form 1099-G reporting a state tax refund, it has 2025 for the year on the form because it represents a refund that you received during 2025.  However, it represents a refund for a 2024 (or earlier) tax return that was filed during 2025.     It cannot represent a 2025 tax refund because that is what you are working on filing now.     Similarly, for a 2025 W-2, the amounts on the form represent money that was earned and paid to you during 2025.  The state tax withholdings shown on the W-2 were withheld in 2025 and will be reported and used to reduce your 2025 state income tax as reported on the tax return you are filing now.

Yes, if your amendment shows a greater refund than you had on the original return you filed the IRS will send you the difference after processing your amended tax return.  Follow the instructions so that TurboTax knows the original figures and the changed numbers for your amendment.   First wait to see if your return was accepted or rejected. Accepted: An amended return must be completed to make the corrections. Rejected:  Make the change before you resubmit your return through e-file. If it was accepted you can amend your tax return using the information below. The amended Form 1040-X will be ready later this month. The IRS is not willing to accept amendments until later in the tax season. Uses the links below for assistance and readiness. If the IRS is mailing your refund check instead of using direct deposit, it's most likely because the attempt to deposit the refund into the bank account provided on the tax return was rejected by your bank.   Your first step should be to call the IRS to inquire about the reason for the paper check. You should also call your bank to confirm if the IRS attempted a direct deposit, if it was rejected, and the reason for the rejection. Another possibility is that the IRS is manually reviewing your tax return.   The IRS does not share any direct deposit information with TurboTax.   @jacobsonhayden

It depends on how your overtime pay is reported on your paystub.     If your overtime is all on one line, and you are paid time-and-a-half, divide the amount by 3 to compute the deductible overtime.     If the overtime premium has a separate line (and is only the half portion of the time-and-a-half) you should enter the total overtime premium as deductible overtime.     Here is an article you may find helpful: No Tax on Overtime Explained: Qualified Overtime Deduction Rules for 2025

I'm looking at the same problem. The 2025 version of TT doesn't seem to allow you to enter in sales without a 1099B. I've gone through and "add investment" but I have 5 choices all of which have forms associated with them. The appropriate choice (stock sale) requires a 1099B to move forward - there doesn't seem to be a way to indicate that there is no 1099b. What am I missing?

Thank you, that allows the step by step method to move forward.  issue resolved

It will be the most efficient way to know when it's ready.     Information from the 'Learn More' link in TurboTax Desktop and TurboTax Online:   Why isn't this section available right now? Each year, the IRS updates the form used for federal tax. There are also updates to both federal and state tax returns due to new laws passed by both federal and state governments. As these changes are finalized, the IRS and state tax authorities send us instructions that we review to determine what areas of TurboTax need to be updated. We work on these updates as soon as we get the instructions, but sometimes the changes are a big deal, and it takes some time to ensure everything is updated correctly. We need to make some areas of TurboTax unavailable while we work on these updates. We do this to ensure the tax return you file is 100% accurate. One we've completed all of the required updates for a section, we'll let you know through email so you can jump back in and finish up your return.

Please explain what you have done.   It is too soon to amend a 2025 tax return.   The Form 1040X is not yet available, so if you just went into your tax return and changed anything after already e-filing, you have messed up the return.   Try to put it back to exactly the way it was when you filed it.    If you need to amend because of a missing W-2, etc. you have to be able to work from the return exactly the way it looked when it was e-filed.   You must use a form called a 1040X which is not scheduled to be available until February 19.   Restore the return to its original appearance and back away from the keyboard for now.
