Once again - I repeat - this happened to me last year. It's a timing situation with Schwab. They post an advisory that tax statements are available, but that's only if you view it online. The download doesn't work for 2-3 days after that. It appears to work but no data is actually transferred. The solution seems to be wait a few days. Then it will work with data actually transferring to your TT desktop application.

Not sure if YOUR issue is something special, I was speaking to the "Import is Unsuccessful' message/ And Schwab saying many 1099s are inorrect and causing import issues. New 1099s on Feb 27th

I'm having the same problem with Charles Schwab. Says it successfully connected and I can return to TurboTax but nothing in TurboTax. Very frustrating.

Double check your entries for each dependent, then check your income levels and compare them in the chart in the links.
If you review last year's return with this year line by line you will be able to see possible changes that could be causing it. The earned income credit is limited to certain income levels based on the number of children you are claiming as dependents. The following links will be helpful to start by checking the income levels.
What is the earned income credit - find out if you qualify
What is the Additional Child Tax Credit?
If you have more questions please add them here and we will help.

Clearly this issue is only a small part of the changes in the tax code. Even though H&R Block may have "transparency" and they say that the D&A portion will be available next Tuesday, Feb 17, I'm not sure if that is a compelling reason to switch. TurboTax still push automatic updates to the tax programs well after the taxes are filed--am sure that other companies do that as well. Yes, it is inconvenient, but I don't see this delay as a big deal--haven't had a significant tax refund in a few years, this year will be no different. As far as the comparison with rocket science goes--rocket science is based in the unchanging laws of physics and chemistry--our country's tax code is incredibly complex/convoluted and changes sometimes radically from year to year. As long as I can continue to do taxes on my own computer (and not online) I will continue to do them on TurboTax. The only compelling reason for me to drop TurboTax is if we went to a straight flat tax.

The 1098-E only lists the interest paid on the loan so it is included for the Minnesota Student Loan credit, but TurboTax does not use it as a separate amount because the credit applies to your total student loan payments (principal and interest). You will have to get the total of your payments from your student loan provider.

Thank you. May I know why entering the non taxable contribution ( Contribution to IRA, my wages are higher that allowed for this deduction) would reduce the tax? As I explained in my original post, if I don't enter this non taxable IRA contribution, then the tax I owe is higher. Please help me to understand this Regards, Ravi

When attempting to enter "add back" federal exempt dividends to SC 1040 from two different brokerages, only one brokerage amount of fed exempt dividends appears on line D of SC 1040. The second brokerage amount of fed exempt does not get added. Can delete the first brokerage fed exempt amount from federal 1040 and enter the second brokerage fed exempt amount and that amount will appear on line D. Can not get the total amount from both brokerages to get entered on line D.

I tried loading my screens to show you, but it didn't take them. I'm still getting the "Depreciation and Amortization will be ready by February, but likely sooner" message. My software is up to date. I even tried the manual link this morning. Still stuck. I have major depreciation to enter, and I'm still waiting on this one form. I tried another software...too painful...have to wait it out. Sigh.

I have been trying to download Schwab 1099s all morning. It appears the connection between TurboTax and Schwab is working, but the download does not proceed. I know this is happening to others, and I would hope that someone from TurboTax will respond with an explanation or, even better, a solution. Per the Schwab website, the information is available for download.

@NakedRanger wrote: I would rather have to enter everything manually then put up.... No you wouldn't, not if you had a few hundred sales to enter. If you've been having issues with opening the program, you should contact Support. Clearly, the vast majority of users are NOT having that issue so it's probably something specific to your setup.
