An heir (1) sued another heir (2) and not as part of estate. Heir 2 settled with heir 1 by giving $10,000 of heir 2 inheritance to heir 1 to settle as nuisance claim. This settlement is not part of heir 1 inheritance but additional monies received. Does heir 2 need to send heir 1 a 1099 MISC to report additional income for tax purposes to heir 1?

The only federal stimulus checks were issued for tax years 2020 and 2021. There is no federal stimulus check for 2025.

Sorry---software for those years is no longer available from TurboTax. TurboTax has software for tax years 2021 up to the current tax year 2024. It is too late to get refunds for 2017, 2018 or 2019; if you owe tax due it is still owed with late filing penalties and interest.
There might be other software companies still offering software for those years or you can seek local paid tax help. Past year returns cannot be e-filed. They must be filed by mail, each year mailed separately.

@skiddly41 wrote: I want to correct my tax. I want to Restart from beginning In order to clear a return, I'll assume you haven't yet registered your product, haven't paid for your product, and, of course, haven't filed. Otherwise it won't let you clear it. Also, you appear to be using Live Deluxe. That Live part is an upgrade from regular Deluxe for an additional fee that includes live on-demand help from a tax expert when preparing your return and a final review of your return, if desired, before filing. If you stay in the Live product, you will be paying a larger fee for the tax expert help. If you don't want the Live product, the FAQ below tells how to remove it. If you clear your return and start over, just be sure when it has you choose a product that you don't choose a Live product (unless you do want that feature.) @gerald_hwang wrote: Why is Turbotax asking me to pay to file my state taxes now when I've already paid for both federal and state tax filing in Turbotax Premium? I filed an extension in April and filed Federal taxes In August. Turbotax asked me to file the state taxes only after my federal was filed. Now it's asking me to pay $64 just to file state. I've already paid. Since you said "Premium", I'll assume you are using Online TurboTax. In Online TurboTax there is a fee to prepare a Federal return and a separate fee to prepare the state return. Efiling is free in Online TurboTax. These are the current prices for Online Premium (prices were slightly lower last April) : Federal return preparation $139 State return preparation $64 Total approximately $203 plus possible sales tax. What exactly did you pay for originally, and how much were you charged? Did you pay $203 (Fed and State), or $139 (Federal only?) You can view your fees this way: Open your return, and in the left menu column click on the TAX TOOLS tab then subtab TOOLS. In the TOOLS window, click blue tab MY FEES. If you paid approximately $200 originally (i.e., for both Federal and State product fees) and now have another charge of $64 for the state return, here's how to phone TurboTax Support for assistance. If you get a robot, just say "billing issue" or "speak to representative about a billing issue." Support hours are 5AM-5PM Pacific, Monday-Friday. as a participant you can make a contribution of up to $23000 for 2024 (+up to an extra 7500 if 50 or over)
you business can make a contribution of 20% of net self-employment income
however, the combined elective deferrals for 2024 (Section 415) limits the total to the 100 % of net se income ( (after deduction for se tax ) or $69,000 + $7,500 if sage 50 or over.
so in essence the maximum net se income after deduction for the se tax that can be taken into account is $232000

if it all depends on whether you took a deduction on your tax return for the net premiums paid before the yhis rebate.
if no deduction it is not taxable
if you took a schedule a tax deduction for the net premiums then it's miscellaneous income reported on schedule 1 line 8z in the year received
couldn't find anything specific on this but to me it seems appropriate if you took a self-employed health insurance deduction this should be treated as a reduction of this expense in the year received

If you efiled, the processing time should be about the same for a late-filed return as a timely-filed one. The average is about 3 weeks if you chose direct deposit. On the other hand, if you filed a paper return by mail, it can take several weeks to process. Here's how you can investigate: First, you need to be sure the return was successfully filed. It depends on how you chose to file the return. If you filed a paper return by mail, TurboTax does not mail it for you. If you chose that method, you would have had to print it, sign it, date it, and mail it yourself. It takes at least 4 weeks for a mailed return to show up in the IRS WMR tool. If you efiled, double-check to be sure the return was efiled successfully and accepted. If you used Online TurboTax, you can sign into your Online Account and check the efile status at the Tax Home. What word is used there for the status: accepted, rejected, printed, started, ready to mail, or something else? If that showed it was accepted, (or if you mailed a paper return), you can use the "Where's My Refund" tool at the IRS website below to monitor the status of your Federal refund. Is there any message there? https://www.irs.gov/wheres-my-refund Here are some tips when using that IRS tool: Be sure you enter the correct tax year, SSN, and filing status. Be sure you are using only the Federal refund amount. Do not include any state refund or any total refund or net refund (Fed and State) that TurboTax may have provided on a summary screen. Look at your actual Federal return to get the Federal refund amount to use in the tool, i.e., your Form 1040, Line 35a. Who did you call? The IRS? Only the IRS can tell you about your refund and they don't update Turbo Tax. Did you efile or mail your return? If you efiled was it Accepted? When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile. Check back though your emails and spam/junk folder. When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. What does it say?
