Well, I feel silly...they only need you to enter the first three characters of the doc number. Do not enter the entire number!

Yes----your wait is normal because the IRS has not yet begun to accept/reject 2025 e-files. They will begin to do that on January 26.
MY RETURN IS IN PENDING—what does that mean?
You will not get any information from the IRS refund site while your return is in pending. The IRS does not have your return yet.
Did you e-file? Did you click that big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?” If so, your return is now in “pending” on a server. Do not try to change anything while your return is in pending. On January 26 the IRS will begin to accept/reject e-files. The IRS accepts a FEW returns in test batches ahead of January 26—-but that is very random. Watch your emails—including your spam folder—for the notice about whether your e-file has been accepted or rejected. If your return is rejected you will be able to make corrections before re-filing. If the return you e-filed is accepted you will have to wait until it has been fully processed and then amend it to fix any mistakes or omissions. It has been taking the IRS four to six months—sometimes longer—to process amended returns. If you e-filed your state return there will be another email later that tells you if the state was accepted or rejected.
WARNING: Do not try to change anything on your return while it is pending.

I am trying like everyone else to find out when it will be available, but to add insult to injury, when I entered my email address to get notification, I received an email stating Form 3903-Moving Expenses is available. That's not even close to what I inquired about. Get it fixed and get the forms out there please!!!!

If qualified overtime deduction was not deducted on your tax return and your tax return has been accepted by the IRS, you will have to amend.
To qualify for the deduction:
Maximum annual deduction is $12,500 ($25,000 for joint filers).
Deduction phases out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $150,000 ($300,000 for joint filers).
The deduction reduces federal income tax liability, it does not exempt overtime pay from Social Security and Medicare taxes. Employees will still owe these taxes on their overtime earnings.
Taxpayers filing as married filing separately are not eligible for the deduction.
The deduction is available for both itemizing and non-itemizing taxpayers.
If your return has been transmitted and rejected by the IRS, you can correct your tax return and re-transmit.
If your return has been transmitted and accepted by the IRS, you will have to amend your Federal 1040 tax return. However, before amending your tax return, do not enter the return and do not make any changes.
If your return has been transmitted and accepted by the IRS, you will not be able to electronically file a second tax return with another service.
Amended tax returns will not be available before the middle of February. See forms availability here.
If you used TurboTax Online, log in to your account and select Amend a return that was filed and accepted.
If you used the CD/download product, sign back into your return and select Amend a filed return.

Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted? Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.
You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large button labeled "Transmit my returns now".
After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.
Note - Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund. Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.
To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product. If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.

TurboTax gets no information from the IRS after you file your tax return. No one at TT can intercede with the IRS for you or find out what the IRS is doing with your tax return. You have to sort that out for yourself.
First---was the return accepted?
DID YOU E-FILE?
Did you e-file? Did you go through all three steps of the FILE section and click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”
When you e-file your return you will get two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say your return has been transmitted; the second one will tell you the IRS has accepted or rejected your federal e-file. If you filed a state return, there will be a third email (usually a day or two later) that tells you if the state e-file was accepted or rejected.
Check your e-file status:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
What does it say in your account? Does it show that the return was accepted? Or does it say something else---like "rejected," "printed," or "ready to mail?”
If you discover or realize that your e-file was rejected, you will need to print it, sign and date it in ink, and file it by mail now, since e-filing is closed for returns for tax year 2024.

Was your third-party sick pay policy paid for by yourself or by your employer?
If you paid for the policy, it isn’t taxable, even if you received a W-2. The income won’t need to be reported as long as you met the following requirements:
Box 1 is $0 or blank
Box 12 has code J
Box 13 has the ‘Third-party sick pay’ box checked.
If your employer paid for the policy, then your sick pay is taxable. You will need to include the information from the W-2 on your return.
