@ElizabethN Ignore my username, I have multiple accounts. Thank you so much for the response! I guess I'll see in the next month or so whether TT has another method of entering this info.

I am starting on my 2025 taxes and now turbo tax is telling me because of changes to the tax law that the section to enter my pension plan withdrawals is unavailable. I find this odd as it has me sign up for information on Form 3903 which has nothing to do with what I am attempting to do. Nor does it give me any information when this section will be available. Says this is because of recent tax law changes. Can someone tell me not only when this section will be available, but also what the issue is as I am having trouble understanding what is causing this delay. I am use to other more complicated things taking a while, but it does not make sense here.

In TurboTax Home and Business 2025, Form 1096 prints with the year 2024 in the top right corner instead of 2025. This is a bug. Has anyone else experienced this when preparing 1099s?

I did use the mock K-1 method, and it seemed to work. It went through and no IRS questions to date. That was for my 2023 return. I had a different source of insurance in 2024, so it was not applicable to me on last year's return. I don't know if anything has changed in the software since then.

Very sorry to hear about your health issues and your tax problem. Not sure how you think TurboTax can help. You have a complex problem that Is going to require help from a professional to sort out. You say that you had self employment income and did not file tax returns. If you had self-employment income, you were required to file and pay self-employment tax for Social Security and Medicare, as well as ordinary income tax (depending on how much you earned).
"I lost 28 work credits" If you did not file tax returns and pay into the Social Security system, that is why you cannot get the work credits for those years and would not be able to receive Social Security disability or regular Social Security benefits.
.."m y unfilled but prepared years and filing them.."
28 credits is a lot---you can only get four credits per tax year---so that implies that you went for a very long time without filing your tax returns. Even if you try to use TurboTax, TT software can only go back as far as tax year 2022. It sounds like you need to go back farther.
Please do not post any personal information here like your name, email, SSN, etc. but provide some more specific details about your city and state, and about the tax years involved in this. Maybe someone in the user forum will be able to suggest some low cost or free help you can seek in the area where you live.

I have to break the share numbers up into two fictitious groups. Until I figured that out, how to report was very confusing, so yes, that is the key in my opinion. The 1099-B will not be correct. If you can find an alternate method, please let me know. I suggest you follow the steps I listed in TurboTax. Once done, I think it will make sense. If you are going to test it in TT 2024, open the prior years return and do a Save As. Now that 2025 is over you should be able to adjust the 2024 data to the 2025 data. I assume you are using the desktop version of TT. Once the 2025 entries are entered, follow the steps I listed to enter the NUA and appreciated shares. I believe (the cost basis) is unchanged now, due to no dividend reinvestment since the conversion. Your cost basis remains that shown on your 1099-R. It shouldn't change for any reason.

Your post is confusing and it seems you want to do something that is not possible. Do you mean that you did not receive the refund for your 2024 tax return, which would have included the refundable additional child tax credit----and you are still trying to get your 2024 refund?
Or do you mean something went wrong or was incorrect on your 2024 return that prevented you from getting the CTC?
You cannot get a 2024 child tax credit on your 2025 tax return. If you were eligible for the child tax credit on your 2024 tax return, it would have been included automatically when you entered your dependent and your income from working into the 2024 tax software.
So...either you were not eligible for the CTC for 2024, or you made some kind of mistake and need to amend your 2024 tax return to seek that credit.
Look carefully at your 2024 Form 1040. What do you see on line 19? What is on line 28?

You will be able to access the 2024 return you started by using the exact same account and user ID that you used when you started it. But you can no longer use online software for any further changes.
Start a 2025 return online and enter some personal information so that the menu on the left opens up and lets you access your past year returns.
Online tax preparation and e-filing for 2024 returns is now permanently closed.
Now it is too late to use online software or to e-file. If you have any changes/corrections at all to make to your 2024 return, you now have to complete it using desktop software, which you must download to a full PC or Mac (not to a mobile device). Then you need to print, sign and mail it.

If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the desktop software.
They are available from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time Monday - Friday

If you are getting a refund, there is no penalty for filing late. If you owe tax due, then file and pay the amount due as shown on the Form 1040, but expect a bill later from the IRS for the penalty and interest you will owe. Only the IRS will calculate this—TurboTax will not calculate it.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
