@marcohl No, I don't have a solution yet. It's on my list to make some calls but haven't had a chance. If I get an answer, I'll definitely let you know.

I'm facing the exact same problem as the original poster - On Turbotax Desktop 2025 there's nowhere to enter spouse AGI or previous year PIN when filing an amendment to go from Married Filing Separately to Married Filing Jointly. When I originally submitted my amendment I got rejected with this error: ``` IND-027-02 - If 'PINTypeCd' in the Return Header has the value "Self-Select On-Line" and 'SpouseBirthDt' has a value, then 'SpousePriorYearAGIAmt' or 'SpousePriorYearPIN' or 'SpouseIdentityProtectionPIN' must have a value. ``` I then tried the workaround of creating and adding an IRS IP PIN, and added that, which led me to ``` IND-032-04 - The spouse's Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) or 5-digit Self Select PIN entered for last year doesn't match IRS records ``` My state amendment did get accepted without any problems though. I called Turbotax support and got someone from the "Resolutions Desk" who said that this is a recent bug from the last 36 hours and they'd get back to me in a few business days after they do an "investigation". Obviously from all the other posts about this problem from the last month or so it's not a new issue though! Is the only solution really to file by mail? Has anyone been able to e-file an amendment from Married Filing Separately to Married Filing Jointly?

First, I'm using TT Home & Business 2025. Oddly, this page doesn't list that option! So I selected Business. Entering info for a 1099-R, Box 15 for State, doesn't have an option for Washingtion. Guess what, Intuit! Washington is one of the fifty states of the USA. Maybe it's not important, since we don't have state taxes, but it is populated on my Form 1099-R. I'm going to leave it blank in TT.

To file a late 2024 New York State Nonresident return (Form IT-203), you must use the TurboTax Desktop software for that specific tax year. Prior-year returns cannot be prepared using the TurboTax Online web version. You must purchase and download the TurboTax 2024 Desktop software to your computer. If you used TurboTax in 2024, you can move your .tax file to the desktop program so you can file the New York return (see How do I save my TurboTax Online return as a tax data file?)
Once you have it installed see How do I file a nonresident state return?

To open your 2024 TurboTax file, move the .tax2024 file out of the zipped folder to your local documents folder. Make sure that TurboTax 2024 is updated, and use File > Open Tax Return inside your TurboTax program instead of double-clicking it.
Things you can try:
Do not try to open the file while it is still inside the zipped folder.
Right-click the zipped folder, select "Extract All," and save the ...tax2024 file to your Documents > TurboTax folder
Open the TurboTax 2024 desktop application first. Then select File in the top menu, then Open Tax Return. Browse to the folder where you moved the file
Make sure the 2024 file is on your computer's hard drive
Make sure it is not in Read only format.Right click on the file, select properties and uncheck the box for read only.
Make sure that Norton 360 is disabled if you have it.

The income reported on Forms 1099-NEC is not wages, it is self-employment income which you should have reported on Schedule C - Self-Employment in the federal return. The New York portion of the $3,133 "Wages, Salaries, Etc," is $0.00. As you go through the New York non-resident return in TurboTax there is a screen that asks "Did you have any New York State Wages?" - Answer No. Next you will see "Your Business and Farm Summary". You click on edit to open the screen where you will enter the net income from your daughter's self-employment income.
Your daughter will receive a credit for tax paid to another state on her Georgia tax return. In order for the credit to calculate correctly you need to prepare the New York non-resident return first and then the Georgia resident return. Delete the Georgia return and then finish the New York return. After the New York return is finished add the Georgia return back to the return.

Less than half time still qualifies for the Lifetime Learning Credit (LLC). But, less than half time does not qualify room & board for the 529 distribution.
Books and computers do not qualify for the LLC. The LLC is 20% of tuition and fees. Paying tax on some of the 1099-Q to get the LLC is not as lucrative as doing it for the AOC. But, it depends on your numbers.

What did the trick for me was deleting the 1099-R and creating a new one. Thereafter, it followed the query path that it had in past years. The key question in my case was "did you make nondeductible contributions in past years". Then the program went into Form 8606 mode and asked me for the IRA balance as of Dec 31, 2025.

The “senior deduction” is added automatically by the software based on the date of birth and filing status you entered into MY INFO. You do not need to take any extra steps to enter it. (And…the new senior deduction has nothing to do with whether you are getting Social Security)
The deduction is not on the same line as your standard deduction. It is shown separately on line 13b.
2025 STANDARD DEDUCTION AMOUNTS
SINGLE $15,750 (65 or older/legally blind + $2000)
MARRIED FILING SEPARATELY $15,750 (65 or older/legally blind +1600)
MARRIED FILING JOINTLY $31,500 (65 or older/legally blind + $1600)
HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD $23,625 (65 or older/legally blind + $2000)
For 2025 through 2028 there is an extra deduction amount of up to $6000 per individual 65 or older filing Single, MFJ, or HOH which is phased out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $75,000 for single filers and $150,000 for joint filers.
(The deduction phases out completely at $175.000 Single or HOH, or $250,000 joint)
The $6,000 senior deduction will be calculated on 1040 Schedule 1-A page 2 Part V Enhanced Deduction for Seniors which goes to 1040 line 13b. It is separate and in addition to the Standard Deduction or your Itemized Deductions on 1040 line 12e. Turbo Tax automatically includes it.

If you are not getting the senior deduction it is because
Your date of birth in MY INFO shows that you were not 65 by the end of 2025
Your income is too high
You are filing married filing separately
