So where does one get Rosetta 2 from? Is it a free download? Was your problem in extracting it from the downloaded zip file? Or something else?

In response to Mike9241 and M-MTax: Thank you for your observations about DNI of simple trusts. And yes, distrbuting principle would, by definition, change the trust designation. Turbotax apportioned DNI between the trust and the beneficiary in spite of the my declaration of "simple". The trust documents for my granddaughters require 100% distribution of DNI in the current year. Solution?: Use the override button for the figures contained in Schedule B. Tip of the hat to Dava in Tx and Nancy in Fl. To quote Dava: "When you open a form, keep scrolling until you get to the bottom!" Thanks to everyone!

There is a new procedure the IRS started last year for TY2024. It allows returns that claim dependents who have already been claimed on another taxpayer’s return to be efiled.
Since your son already claimed himself, your return is getting rejected. You can get an Identity Protection Personal Identification Number (IP PIN) for him, enter this on your return and re-file electronically.
Here are some good references:
IR-2024-294
Age, name or SSN rejects, errors, correction procedures
Protect Yourself From Tax-Related Identity Theft: Get an Identity Protection PIN
Here are two ways to navigate to the section to enter the 6 digit IP PIN:
Log in and open your return ("Take me to my return")
Once the return is open, then go to the Federal Taxes tab.
Subtab Other Tax Situations
Scroll down to Other Return Info.
Choose Identity Protection PIN and Start (or Revisit.)
Next screen asks: "Did you or any of your dependents get an IP PIN from the IRS for this year's taxes?"
Or another way:
Open your return if not already open. ("Take me to my return.")
Once the return is open, click at the top on MY ACCOUNT, then choose TOOLS.
In the Tools window choose TOPIC SEARCH.
Enter IP PIN without quotes.
In the selection list highlight IP PIN and click GO.
Next screen asks: "Did you or any of your dependents get an IP PIN from the IRS for this year's taxes?"

For 2025, you only report your 2025 income. If you are filing jointly with your spouse, you file one return that combines all your joint income, deductions, credits and dependents.** (This assumes you are both US citizens, green card holders, or resident aliens who pass the substantial presence test. If you are something else, post more details.)
For 2024, how you file depends on what your legal status was. When did you enter the US, and what kind of visa if any; when did you get your green card (if any); were you legal to work? Did you have US income before moving to the US? Yes, you can file for 2024 by purchasing the 2024 software -- it is not too late -- but we need a few more details to know how you should file for 2024.

I was just denied refund even though I paid for QuickBooks Self Employed Tax Bundle: "Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your recent refund request for your TurboTax Online purchase. We regret to inform you that your request related to the TurboTax Online product linked to Case #[phone number removed] has been denied. As explained in our Terms of Service, TurboTax Online can be used at no cost up until the point that you submit payment. Once payment has been received, the product is considered to have been used to prepare your taxes, regardless of whether you print or electronically file your return, or if your return is rejected by the agency you filed with. While refunds may be processed in certain limited circumstances described in our posted policies for refund requests, your request is not eligible for refund. Warm regards, TurboTax Customer Service & Support" I'm getting really upset about this. Intuit owes me a refund for TWO years of tax filings now....do I need to file a lawsuit to get their attention? They need to get it together.

You need to spell out some of the numbers so the software doesn't think you are posting a persona phone number or SSN. Or, take a screenshot and upload it as a picture.

For Wisconsin, only sort of. On the Wisconsin, your medical care premiums are reduced if you deducted them wholly or partially on the federal Schedule A.
Go into the Wisconsin interview and look for the following from Employee tax expert DawnC:
You will come to a screen that says, How Wisconsin handles income differently. Scroll down to Medical, Care Insurance, click Start, and enter your information.
Let TurboTax calculate the amount of the Wisconsin deduction.
