@jdmercha If your state sent you a tax notice or adjustment to your return, you have the right to disagree with their changes and respond in writing requesting an abatement of the additional taxes, interest or penalties.  Note: Generally, you should pay the additional tax first, and then requesting a refund with your written response.   As you know, you also have certain options for audit defense with TurboTax stemming from your purchase. If you are still unable to contact Audit Support directly, then I would try contacting Customer Support to make the connecting call.    Further details from the TurboTax Audit Support Center help page: What types of audit support does TurboTax provide? TurboTax offers the following options for support when you receive an audit notice. Audit Support Guarantee Description: Free one-on-one audit guidance when you file a return with any TurboTax version except TurboTax Business for Windows Services: Consultation with a trained tax professional if you receive an audit notice Year-round answers to your audit questions Assistance with what to expect and how to prepare for an audit Contact info: Call 800-624-9066 for assistance Audit Defense Description: Optional paid add-on service that must be purchased when you file your taxes Available through MAX Defend and Restore (TurboTax Online), PLUS, or as a standalone service (TurboTax desktop software) Services: Full audit representation by a licensed tax professional, including representation in front of the IRS Contact info: Create or sign in to your Audit Defense account to get started. You can also contact TaxAudit at 877-829-9695. How do I know if I purchased Audit Defense? To determine if you purchased Audit Defense, sign in to your TurboTax account, select the tax year under Your tax returns & documents, and select View order details. If you have PLUS, Max Benefits, or Premium Services listed, then you purchased Audit Defense. In TurboTax Desktop, it’s called Audit Defense for TurboTax Desktop. Tip: Have your notice and your tax return handy when you call.   What state are you in if you do not mind sharing? I can help you find your state's guidance for responding to tax notices. See this post for an example (or for reference, if you also happen to live in NYS).

Thanks @AnnetteB6    "Conversions can be done at any time and are only associated with the year in which it is done, unlike IRA contributions which are tied to a particular tax year." - I did not know this. So I should clear below shown form about recharacterization? Now let's say I contribute to traditional IRA for 2026 in 2026 and then transfer immediately to Roth. Then 1099-R form for 2026 will have two years worth of contribution? Thank you
theres an issue with turbo tax, it is recycling through all the same questions
I filed with Jackson Hewett and I didn't know they did file

When you enter state estimates you have to pick the state from the drop down box.  You enter all your state payments on the same screen.  Just keep adding more.   To enter State Estimated Taxes Paid, including a state estimated payment made in January for the prior year, go to Federal on left or at top (Personal for Home & Business) Deductions and Credits Then scroll way down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid Estimates - click the Start or Update button If you made more than 4 payments - at the bottom is + Add another payment

How does someone add or remove projected retirement distribution withholdings  from next year's estimated payments calculation?  (Turbotax seems to assume the next year withholding amount will be same as the current year)   I found in the "Est Tax Options" worksheet where a projected withholding amount could be added/removed. Is it safe to do so there, or is there another method inside the interview that should/could instead be used?   SE   (TT Deluxe Windows Desktop)

If you could add some additional info it would be helpful. What type of capital gains did you have? My question before yours was a rental property installment sale. I'm trying to figure out how to choose which capital gains method to deduct the $2500 or 40%. Any info would help, Thanks
Please provide your state for us so that we can review for you.    @firedrake123
You are not eligible for a solar credit when purchasing a home with the solar panela already installed.
Did you get a letter from the IRS saying you owe?  Do you get Social Security?  A common reason for 2024 is answering a SS question wrong  and not getting any  SS taxable amount on 1040 line 6b
The worksheets allow for one federal, one state and one local. The local does not work and the second state tax form will not allow direct entry of estimated tax payments.
Is there any way to find my W-2 through TurboTax?
This has NOT been fixed, at least not for the online version. Clearing of cache and cookies, deleting form and re-entering, do not solve the issue.

Please explain "something got messed up"---we cannot see your  2024 tax return or any of your information. DID YOU E-FILE?   Did you e-file?   Did you go through all three steps of the FILE section and click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”     When you e-file your return you will get two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say your return has been transmitted; the second one will tell you the IRS has accepted  or rejected your federal e-file.  If you filed a state return, there will be a third email (usually a day or two later) that tells you if the state e-file was accepted or rejected.   Check your e-file status:   https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/    What does it say in your account?  Does it show that the return was accepted?   Or does it say something else---like "rejected," "printed," or "ready to mail?”   If you discover or realize that your e-file was rejected, or just never filed, you will need to print it, sign and date it in ink, and file it by mail now, since e-filing is closed for returns for tax year 2024.      You will be able to access the 2024 return you started by using the exact same account and user ID that you used when you started it.   But you can no longer use online software for any further changes.       Start a 2025  return online and enter some personal information  so that the menu on the left opens up and lets you access your past year returns.   Online tax preparation and e-filing for 2024  returns is now permanently closed.    Now it is too late to use online software or to e-file. If you have any changes/corrections at all to make to your 2024 return, you now have to complete it using desktop software, which you must download to a full PC or Mac  (not to a mobile device). Then you need to print, sign and mail it.   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/printers-printing/finish-prior-year-return-started-turbotax-online/L9Oe4M90A_US_en_US?uid=m68tffpe   If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the desktop software.   They are available from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Pacific time   https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899263-what-is-the-turbotax-phone-number     If you are getting a refund, there is no penalty for filing late.  If you owe tax due, then file and pay the amount due as shown on the Form 1040, but expect a bill later from the IRS for the penalty and interest you will owe.  Only the IRS will calculate this—TurboTax will not calculate it.     When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.   Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
