@Joan2, it appears that you are using TurboTax (desktop) on Windows?   On a Mac with TurboTax Deluxe (desktop), I do not see a "data source" option when I right-click (or double-click) a field on the Foreign Tax Credit Computation Worksheet ("1116 Comp Wks").  @pk, can you please confirm that the "data source" option does not currently exist for the Mac version of TurboTax (as was previously reported here)?

If you want to make changes or add a document to a tax return that has already been filed and accepted by the taxing agency, you should follow these guidelines.  You must first wait until the initial return is completely processed.  You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return.  Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return.   The refund calculator will start new at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due  Only make changes to the areas of your return that need to be corrected.  You have three years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment  Select your product below and follow the instructions.  Amend TurboTax Online  Amend TurboTax CD/Download    In TurboTax Online, this is how you enter the qualified overtime premium: After entering your form W-2, you'll see a screen titled Let's Check for Other Situations Put a checkmark on Overtime and click Continue Follow the TurboTax questionnaire to enter your qualified overtime premium This deduction will transfer to Schedule 1-A of your form 1040, then to line 13b of your form 1040.
Dental and vision insurance are part of health insurance, but what deductions are you talking about?  State? If so, which state?

This was just updated.  If you are using desktop software you may need to do a manual update. Try clearing your Cache and Cookies and then try this link instructions. If you are using the online software, Clear Cache and Cookies.    If you opened your return after filing and changed even one small number (perhaps to "see what would happen" or to test a deduction) before clicking the "Amend" button, TurboTax now thinks that "changed" version is your original. When you then start the amendment, it pulls those "in-progress" numbers into Column A.   If you are certain you didn't touch the file before amending, it's possible there were software updates after the time you filed and before you amended. The new calculation (especially for complex credits like the Premium Tax Credit) might retroactively apply to your "Original" column, causing a mismatch with what you actually e-filed months ago.   To fix this, go into Forms Mode, open the 1040X Worksheet, and manually correct the figures in Column A to match your original 'as-filed' return. This ensures the software calculates the 'Change' (Column B) correctly based on the 'Correct Amount' (Column C)."   How to amend my return?

@Rajahnik  If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the $40 service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the $40 service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return. For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/ Tax Products Group Contact Information - https://help.sbtpg.com/hc/en-us/articles/230084587-Contact-Information Call 1-877-908-7228 Or email - TPG-CSsupport@greendotcorp.com

Yes.  If she is still 18, it does not matter whether or not she is a student, as long as she meets the other criteria for being your dependent, she still counted towards your EIC due to her age. Once she turns 19 up until she is 24, then the student designation matters.    The following criteria must be met to claim someone as a qualifying child: Your child (including adopted and foster children), your sibling, or a descendent of any of them. Age 18 or younger at the end of the tax year OR under 24 (and younger than you and your spouse) if they are a full-time student or any age if they are totally and permanently disabled Lived with you for more than 6 months during the tax year They did not provide more than half of their own support (social security does not count) They did not file a joint return, unless it was to claim a refund

For the second 1099R form, here is how to enter. After entering the second 1099R, here is how to answer the followup questions when they appear.    When asked "Was this withdrawal an RMD?", select Yes.  On the screen "How much of this distribution was an RMD?": Select "The entire distribution was an RMD." Enter the "Due" Amount: In the box for "RMD due by Dec. 31, 2025," enter the Box 1 amount of this second form. In this case, it doesn't matter how the RMD requirement was split. The IRS is only interested if your RMD requirement was met for the year.

You need to retrieve your Depr Report if you are working with the Business TurboTax product, or the Depreciation Report if you are working with one of the personal return TurboTax products. In the Business product, you can use the Forms menu option to see the report in the list of forms. If working online with TurboTax, you will see the report when you print out the worksheets and schedules associated with your tax return, after you pay for the product.

I know you have tried many of these things already. Can you try logging out completely and restarting your browser?    Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.
Is this for state taxes?  If so, which state?
Clearing cache and cookies and trying a different browser was the first thing I did. I even tried incognito mode and InPrivate with the same result.
You only enter your property taxes one time.  So if you enter them in the taxes paid section from your tax statement, you would not enter the same property taxes again on your HELOC.
I am 78, so TurboTax's calendar cannot screw up my eligibility to take an RMD! You are correct, there is a software bug, and I am surprised INTUIT are not rushing to fix it.

TT 2025 refuses to accept the amount of Box 5 that represented health insurance premiums. I've answered the question and whenever I revisit this 1099-R, it says (again) that I need to enter an amount. Apparently this was a problem last year too. I'm using the desktop version.
