Just had the same problem. Cannot enter credit card expiration month of 10, 11, or 12. Perhaps this is a sneaky way to force users to pay with refund and a $40 processing fee. Fortunately, I had one card with a expiration month that I could enter. And the original post is from 2024 and still not fixed?
Even with updates yesterday, Feb 26, and today, Feb 27, these issues still aren't fixed.
We'd love to help you complete your tax return, but need more information. Can you please clarify your question?
Been through that section multiple times. Spouse and I are both retired and not covered by retirement plans at work.

You have options: 1. You can get back into your tax return by selecting Add a State. This lets you into your return and then you can print your vouchers. It's the backdoor method for after filing. 2. Make the payments online which is preferred by most governments. Use Transaction Portal (TAP) 3. Fill in a blank voucher to mail. @trapezewdc wrote: Thanks.    It would for sure help if this issue can be reported to TurboTax for further investigations. I actually tried another software tool and it didn't give me this issue and the tool allowed me to e-file at the end. You would need to go to the Tools or Support menu, select "Send file to agent."  This uploads an anonymous version of your file to tech support and gives you a token number that can be used to associate your complaint with the uploaded file.  The post the token number here and I can ask a moderator to look at the situation.

Thank you for all your help, I really appreciate it.   I should have been more clear in my messages.   I received two W2's from one previous employer.   One W-2 was complete, and had MA for the state in Box 15.   The second W-2 had boxes 1 through 6 blank, and had MD for the state in Box 15.   I have filed my federal taxes, and received my refund.   I have not filed my state taxes so far.   I entered both of these W-2's on my federal taxes, and on my state taxes.   Thank you again for all of your help and patience, I really appreciate it.   -Joe Suffness

So my confusion is still about putting it in to Turbotax. So, for example, when I start to do a tax return for my kids who are under 18, it tells me that "If your parents report your income on their return, you do not need to complete or file this return if you no income from working." (which is true, the income is not from working).

A few weeks ago I'd entered all my information and performed the Federal Review and all was well. I returned recently to file the taxes and Turbo Tax performed an update. After the update the Federal Review showed problems with Form 5695. Specifically that an address was entered into line 21c but the boxes in 21a and 21b were not checked. I deleted the form went through back through step-by-step to re-enter the information including answering yes to the questions related to boxes 21a and 21b.  I then performed the review again and it had the same problem. I contacted technical support and was told to override the values in 21a and 21b, which I did (even though it gave several warnings), however it still did not include the energy credit to my balanced owed. At this point my call to tech support was lost.  Please investigate and fix this bug.

It should not be relied upon as tax or legal advice. Please consult a qualified professional or the IRS directly before making filing decisions.   I’ve spent over two and a half hours this week on the phone with both Intuit and the Oregon Employment Department trying to clarify the federal tax treatment of Paid Leave Oregon benefits. Here’s what I’ve learned so far — and where things remain unclear. 1099 Forms Issued If you received Paid Leave Oregon benefits for your own leave, the state issued a 1099-MISC. If you received benefits to care for someone else, the state issued a 1099-G. Federal Taxability Question I reviewed IRS Revenue Ruling 2025-04 (linked on the Paid Leave Oregon website) regarding the federal taxability of these benefits. Based on my understanding of that ruling (and additional clarification I sought), the recipient may be responsible for paying federal income tax only on the portion of benefits funded by employer contributions. For example: If an employer has more than 25 employees, the employer contributes 40% of the program funding. The remaining 60% is employee-funded. Under this interpretation, only the 40% employer-funded portion would be federally taxable income. However, a Paid Leave Oregon representative told me something different — that the benefits count as income but are considered non-taxable income. That seems contradictory, and I’m hesitant to rely solely on verbal guidance to remain compliant with IRS requirements. Scope of Issue This appears to affect: Oregon’s Paid Leave program Washington’s state-sponsored paid leave program Potentially similar programs in other states Contact with Intuit & State The Intuit representative I spoke with said the issue would be escalated internally for possible system updates but could not guarantee any changes. The Paid Leave Oregon representative also said they would escalate the issue on their end, again with no assurance of action. At this point, I’m essentially in a holding pattern. Possible Reporting Workaround (Not Yet Tested) Some online sources suggest the following approach in TurboTax: Enter the 1099-MISC as received. Go to: Other Income Less Common Income “Other reportable income” Enter the employer-funded portion as a negative adjustment. Retain documentation supporting all calculations in case of IRS inquiry. Again, I have not yet tried this method and cannot confirm whether it is correct.
