Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.
The processing of a state tax refund can take whatever time the state needs before a refund is issued.
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_...

Thanks for your detailed reply. I appreciate your heads up about possibly invalidating the guarantee. Still, I'd probably prefer to use forms as I've been doing for many years. So I would greatly appreciate it if you could please tell me what form I would start entering the sale in after I delete the 4797.

if your children have an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) instead of a Social Security Number (SSN), they may qualify you for the $500 Credit for Other Dependents.
To claim the $500 credit for your children, the following conditions must be met:
Identification: The child must have a valid ITIN, SSN, or ATIN assigned by the due date of your tax return (including extensions).
Residency: The child must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or U.S. resident alien.
Dependency: You must claim the child as a dependent on your tax return.
Support: The child must not provide more than half of their own financial support for the year.
Income Limit: Your modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) must be below the phase-out threshold, which is $200,000 for single filers or $400,000 for married couples filing jointly.
What is the $500 Credit for Other Dependents (“Family Tax Credit”)?

IL state removed, re-did and no change. Followed the steps above again and no change. Also, I was viewing the state form when hit FORMS view while in EIC state step. . However, when looking at forms lists on left, don't see anything like Schedule EIC or anything with EIC in name. The sheet that's displayed when trying to perform your step #7 is Schdule IL-E/EIC (Exeption and Earned Income Tax Credit). (Retired, no deps/kids, No job/W2).

Which state form are you filing? On most of them you need to specify what portion of the interest in box 3 is exempt from tax.

Hopefully, you followed the TurboTax prompts to add direct deposit at the end of the filing process, when it asks how you would like to receive your refund. We unfortunately said "receive paper check", as there was NO warning that the federal government does not SEND CHECKS anymore, and you HAVE TO add you banking information if you want your money back. This is new this year. Here's the twist: if you have already submitted your 2025 tax return AND the IRS has accepted your return, it is too late to use TurboTax to add you banking info. You now have to make an account/log in to IRS.gov. No biggie - right? OH YES, it's a biggie. Before you can create a (personal) IRS account, you have to make an ID.me account, upload your ID, give all your personal information, set up facial recognition, and when that all fails; set up a video conference with an agent who can then verify your identity. We gave up after 3 attempts! and will thereby forfeit the federal tax return for this year!

Does your 1099-INT contain an entry for Box 6 - Foreign tax paid? If it does, Form 1099-INT will also have the country where the tax was paid in box 7.
If your 1099-INT has blank boxes for both 6 and 7, then you should go back into your return in TurboTax and find this 1099-INT entry in the Step by Step instructions and remove any entry you have in box 6.

Some retirement plans don't have a required minimum distribution, such as defined benefit plans where you receive a monthly pension distribution, but once you die there is no residual pension left over, except for a spousal benefit. That may be the type of plan you have, in which case your required minimum distribution (RMD) would be $0. Your plan cost would be what you contributed to it. If there is no entry in box 9(b) then you probably didn't contribute anything to it from your wages, as your employer may have made all of the contributions.
