Thank you for sending your diagnostic file and providing the token number.  I was able to take a look at your return to see what is happening.  There is an input required for the home office that does not seem to be going to the right spot to allow the home office expense.  I will follow-up with this and report it to the development team.     In the meantime, here are the steps you can take to get your return ready to file.  Bear with me, some of them might not make sense.     Open the return and go to Forms so that you can see the actual forms included in your return.   Look for Schedule B on the left side of the screen.  Under the Schedule B, there is a Form 8829.  Highlight the 8829 and delete it. Deleting that form under the Schedule B will remove the home office for your wife as well as the one under Schedule B. Go back to the step-by-step mode and select either Schedule C business to work on (yours or your wife). Go through the home office section again, but this time, when TurboTax automatically fills in your address for the name of the home office, change it to something else (Wife's Home Office, Taxpayer's Home Office).  The names of the home offices need to be different from one another.   If you do not see a question as you go through this home office section that asks what percentage of time is spent in the office, then you will likely see the message again that the home office does not qualify due to income from the business.  If you get the home office deduction for this first home office, then repeat steps 4-6 for the other Schedule C business to add the home office.   If you did not see a question regarding the percentage of time spent in the home office, then follow these steps to enter that information:   Go to Forms again. Look for Form 8829 (the name you gave the home office you just entered) on the left side of the screen and highlight this form.   Scroll down the page to the section titled Line 8 Calculation Smart Worksheet.  It will have a box around it. Type 100 in the box on line B. This will then calculate the home office deduction.   @ctbimmer

You should contact the bank, the insurance company, and the IRA custodian to update her "legal residence" or "domicile" to New Jersey while keeping the PA address as the "mailing address" only.   The main priority is correcting the IRA withholding so they stop sending her money to the wrong state treasury.

I'm with everyone else in this boat - I have TurboTax Premier Desktop and have been using Turbotax for 35 years.  For TY 2025, it does not have the capability yet for me to enter the depreciation on a new porch for my rental house.  It tells me that form will be coming in February, but the online Turbotax Forms Availability site claims Form 4562 is ready.  Even manually checking for updates says my product is up to date but the "coming in February" message remains.  This is holding me back form submitting my taxes to get my refund (everything else is entered and checked).  I spoke with support last Friday and they told me the update with the Form would get pushed out Fri Feb 13.  I tried Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and today (Mon Feb 16) but no update.  I see Intuit employees above posting today that the update will got published this Thursday Feb 19, then another saying this Friday Feb 20.  Please Intuit, get this done ASAP!  And correct your Forms Availability website to provide accurate information!

Call IRS e-file Payment Services 24/7 at 1-888-353-4537 to inquire about your payment.   If you want to check the debit date you specified, look on the filing instructions for your return.  It will tell you the debit date the IRS or State will deduct the payment.  If you did not print them out you can view them using the following steps:    If you filed using TurboTax Online, the Electronic Filing Instructions page will give that info.   Here's how to view the PDF copy: Sign in to TurboTax and open your return. On the Tax Home screen, scroll to Your tax returns & documents and select Add a State (don't worry, you're not actually adding a state, this just gets you into the right area) to access your tax forms and worksheets. In the menu, select Tax Tools, then Print Center. On the TurboTax Print Center screen, select Print, save or preview this year’s return. On the next TurboTax Print Center screen, select 2025 Federal return and Include government and TurboTax worksheets, then select View or print forms. The information will be on the first page, Electronic Filing Instructions, for your 2025 Federal Tax Return, next to Balance Due/Refund. TurboTax CD/Download  Go into Forms Mode by clicking on the Forms icon in the top right of the blue bar.   In the Forms in My Return list on the left, click Filing Inst.  [It's usually toward the bottom of the list.]  The form will appear on the right side of the screen. You can view the form on the screen or you can print a copy by clicking the Print box at the bottom of the screen. To return to the interview, click on the Step-By-Step icon in the top right of the blue bar.

No, you do not need to amend it outside the TurboTax system. You can amend it using TurboTax but you will need to include Form 8621. TurboTax does not support 8621 thus you will need to download a copy here and include it in your return. After you finish the amendment, print and mail your return. Be sure to include the 8621 form you completed after downloading it.   The printing and mailing instructions will be included with your amendment. To amend.    For TurboTax Online   Sign in and scroll down to Your tax returns & documents.  Select 2024 and then select Amend (change) return. Select Amend using TurboTax Online. Follow the instructions.  For the Desktop, you will need a 2024 version of the software.   Open the specific tax file you want to change. This 2024 tax file should be stored in your computer. Go to the Federal Taxes tab (or "Personal" depending on your version). Look for Other Tax Situations. Scroll down to Other Tax Forms and select Amend a Return. TurboTax will ask, "Did you already file your return?" Select Yes.

If your 2024 return was rejected that means it was never filed.   When it rejected, did you attempt to fix it and re-file?   Or did you file it by mail?   If you did not do either of those things, then your 2024 return still has not been filed.  The only way to file it now is by mail.   E-filing is permanently closed for 2024 returns.  You can print it, sign and date it in ink, and mail it in.   If you are getting a refund, there is no penalty for late filing.  If you owe tax due, your late penalties and interest have been adding up since April 15.   As for e-filing your 2025 return, you will not have a 2024 AGI to enter since it seems you did not file 2024.   Wen it asks you for your 2024 AGI choose the answer that says you did not file a 2024 return or try using "zero".   And...so that you will know what AGI is and where to look:   Where do I find my AGI?   https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/agi/help/how-do-i-find-last-year-s-agi/01/25947   Your 2024 tax return shows your 2024 Adjusted Gross Income  (AGI)  If you filed a joint return then the AGI is the same for each of you.   Form 1040        line 11   If entering the amount from your 2024 tax return does not work, then try entering “0” instead.  If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.   You can get a free transcript of your past return from the IRS:   https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript Note: If you filed late or amended your return, your correct 2024 AGI may not be in the system.  https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1944348-how-do-i-print-and-mail-my-return-in-turbotax-online Note:  If you mail your federal return, you will also need to mail your state return.  You will not be able to e-file your state return.

@MelindaS1 Thank you very much for your detailed response.  I have the desktop version of TT (I downloaded it), but am still trying to familiarize myself with the "quick zoom" feature of the forms.   From that I was able to determine that TT is handling the portion of the refund for 2024 taxes that was paid in 2025 as taxable income. IOW, the "deduction to the deduction" on Schedule A, line5,  is:   amount of 2024 refund to be taxed in 2025 = ((2024 estimated tax pd in 2025)/ (2024 estimated tax + withholding))  * total_refund     That makes sense assuming that I am supposed to be taxed because some payments were made in 2025. However, I do not understand the "why" of it.  My understanding is that a refund from a tax year in which you did *not* itemize (i.e., took the standard deduction) is not taxable, no matter when all the estimated taxes were paid.     The TT  reference:https://blog.turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/is-my-state-tax-refund-taxable-and-why-90/ says When it’s not taxable Your state income tax refund is not taxable if:  You claimed the standard deduction instead of itemizing on your prior year federal tax return.   You didn’t claim a deduction for state and local income taxes paid on your prior year federal tax return. Tax Act and H&R Block have similar statements.   Also,  TT for 2025 asks about refunds for 2024. On the screen that says   Let's get some details from your 2024 federal tax return   Did you take the Standard Deduction or itemize? [I selected] O  I took the Standard Deduction.   [I did not select "I itemized my deductions"]   And here's the kicker: after I click on the Continue button at the bottom of that screen,  the next screen says:   Good News! Your refund isn't taxable. This includes any state and local funds.      TT knows when I made all my estimated tax payments. So which it is? Do I misunderstand the guidance that you are not taxed for refunds that are from a year in which you did not itemize, or is TT's "Good News!"  screen simply wrong or misleading?    Apologies for the long post and congratulations if you made it this far!

Please clarify your actual question. Are you asking how to enter something on your Oklahoma business return? Or are you seeing an error message on that return?
Please clarify.   Was your 2024 return never successfully filed--either by efile or by printing and mailing?

Mike 9241's reply and the tax rules cited support my contention that all the proceeds received on redemption of a treasury note should be considered as interest, not a capital gain. I still cannot understand why my (major) brokerage firm incorrectly counted some of my 2025 treasury note redemptions as capital gains. Now I have to decide if I will use the erroneous capital gain numbers on my tax return (versus converting them to interest) so there is no discrepancy between my return and the numbers submitted to the IRS by my brokerage firm.

As I was informed, the work around is to put the room and board, computer expense and ( I think books/supplies etc) in the Peoples worksheet. Don't put Tuition paid in Box 1. That info gets transferred to the Student Info worksheet. TT puts the info from 1098 T in box 1 of the student work sheet, and presto you should be good to go. At least for me, it seems to work even after closing and reopening the program. Having said that TT is very buggy and hopefully one day the eduction expenses will be fixed. The work sheets ar a mess and the instructions stink.

First, check to see if you signed up for the TurboTax Refund Advance. You can look in a few specific places in your account or your email.    Check Your TurboTax Order Details On the Tax Home page, scroll down to the section for "Your tax returns & documents." Select View Order Details. Look for "Refund Advance" or "Credit Karma Money" listed under your payment and refund methods. If it’s not there, you likely selected a standard direct deposit or a different refund option.   Look for Confirmation Emails If you applied, you should have received automated emails from TurboTax and its partners. From TurboTax: Search for an email confirming your "Refund Selection." From Credit Karma: If you were approved, Credit Karma sends an email when the funds are deposited into your Credit Karma Money Spend account. From WebBank: If your application was denied, you will receive an email from WebBank (the lender) explaining the reason for the decline.   Check Your Credit Karma Money Account Because the Refund Advance is deposited into a Credit Karma Money™ Spend account, checking that account is the fastest way to see if the loan was processed. Log in to your Credit Karma account. Navigate to the Money tab. If you see a pending or completed deposit for a portion of your refund (typically between $250 and $4,000) shortly after the IRS accepted your return, that is your Refund Advance.   Review Your Tax Return Summary You can also find clues on your actual tax forms: Open your 2025 return in TurboTax Go to the Tax Tools menu on the left Select Print Center View your Federal Information Worksheet Look at the "Direct Deposit" section If you signed up for the advance, the bank account listed will be the MVB Bank account associated with Credit Karma, rather than your personal bank account.
