Generally no. If you never launched the business and only filed the paperwork you cannot write off the legal fees for zoom on your 2025 return.
If you do plan to start the business still, you can deduct up to $5,000 in start up costs in the first year of business, which you could use the legal fees as start up costs when you begin operations.

First, check to see if you signed up for the TurboTax Refund Advance. You can look in a few specific places in your account or your email.
Check Your TurboTax Order Details
On the Tax Home page, scroll down to the section for "Your tax returns & documents."
Select View Order Details.
Look for "Refund Advance" or "Credit Karma Money" listed under your payment and refund methods.
If it’s not there, you likely selected a standard direct deposit or a different refund option.
Look for Confirmation Emails
If you applied, you should have received automated emails from TurboTax and its partners.
From TurboTax: Search for an email confirming your "Refund Selection."
From Credit Karma: If you were approved, Credit Karma sends an email when the funds are deposited into your Credit Karma Money Spend account.
From WebBank: If your application was denied, you will receive an email from WebBank (the lender) explaining the reason for the decline.
Check Your Credit Karma Money Account
Because the Refund Advance is deposited into a Credit Karma Money™ Spend account, checking that account is the fastest way to see if the loan was processed.
Log in to your Credit Karma account.
Navigate to the Money tab.
If you see a pending or completed deposit for a portion of your refund (typically between $250 and $4,000) shortly after the IRS accepted your return, that is your Refund Advance.
Review Your Tax Return Summary
You can also find clues on your actual tax forms:
Open your 2025 return in TurboTax
Go to the Tax Tools menu on the left
Select Print Center
View your Federal Information Worksheet
Look at the "Direct Deposit" section
If you signed up for the advance, the bank account listed will be the MVB Bank account associated with Credit Karma, rather than your personal bank account.

Thank you for your reply, which I appreciate. Your answer would make a lot of sense IF the taxable amount in box 2a were blank. However, the gross distribution in box 1 is $22,708.08 and the box 2a taxable amount is $22,248.72, and I typed those in when entering the form I'm certain (though I will go back and check as well). That was why I was so flummoxed to be asked when TurboTax should not need this information. It seems that this year TurboTax is asking me this and other unnecessary questions (like whether the TRS pension or my TSP account are 403(b)'s, which I then had to go look up and say no to, but again are the same as last year and at least TSP (Thrift Savings Plan) Turbotax ought to know is NOT one without asking me. I don't recall encountering this hurdle in previous years.

I'm willing to bet that other commenters on this thread, just like myself, need this form to continue depreciation for existing assets.

On the W-2 that your wife got from her employer, there should be a code or abbreviation before the number in box 14. What is the code or abbreviation? If there is just a number, with no code or abbreviation, the W-2 is not filled out correctly. In that case, your wife has to ask her employer for a corrected W-2.
Some of the codes in box 14 are specific to a state. What state did your wife work in?
There are no standard rules for what goes in box 14, and no standard codes or abbreviations. The employer can put pretty much anything they want in there. If there is something you don't understand, your wife has to ask her employer what it means.

There is an error in how the program handles gambling incoming if you have both a W-4G and other gambling income. The program first asks you to enter W-4G information. It them switches to another page and asks for other gambling income. The question asks you to enter "All prize and gambling income". Since it says "All" I assumed it would include the previous entered W-4G amount. Since had some other income I entered the total amount including W-4G. When I finished the income section the summary page only showed the W-4G amount and not the total amount, however, on the Form 1040 Line 8 it had taken the W-4G amount and added it to the Total amount I had entered in effect doubling the amount of Other Income on the Form 1040. To my mind there are two errors. One, when asked for additional gambling income it should cleared only ask for additional income to the W-4G. Two, the Income Summary page is not correctly showing the amount of Other Income which will be shown on Form 1040 Line 8. Turbo Tax need to review the handling of this to matter to make it clear and correct.

I received a 1099-K and later a 1099-NEC from Uber for income that was not mine due to confirmed identity theft. Uber investigated and issued corrected forms for both documents showing $0 income. The corrected 1099-NEC is marked “Corrected.” The 1099-K shows $0 but the “Corrected” box is not checked, although Uber confirmed they filed the correction with the IRS. I already filed IRS Form 14039 (Identity Theft Affidavit) ,have an IP PIN, and took proper measures on the identity theft My question: When filing in TurboTax, do I: Completely ignore these 1099 forms since the corrected versions show $0? If I do need to enter on turbotax, do I enter them into TurboTax as $0?Do I need to report them somewhere with the explanation There is no actual income to report. I just want to make sure my return properly matches IRS records and avoids triggering any mismatch. Thank you for any guidance.

If you are having trouble e-filing your Georgia S-Corp tax return, please note that the Forms Availability Table indicates that many GA state forms won't be ready to e-file until February 20, 2026. However, if you're unable to e-file your federal Form 1120S, it would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2025" file that is experiencing this issue for further testing. You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions: Open your return and go to Online in the top menu, then choose "Send Tax File to Agent." You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is. Click okay through this screen and then you will get a Token number. Reply to this thread with a screenshot of your Token number (this avoids Community filters for numbers with a dash) and tag (@) the Expert requesting the token from you. Please include any States that are part of your return - this is VERY important. We will attempt to determine the cause of your experience and possibly provide you with a resolution. @smabney @user17710511098 [edited 2/16/2026 | 9:53 am PT]

Error code 606 means you are entering an invalid license code. Did you purchase Desktop Software or Online Software? There is a difference between a License Code (for Desktop) and an Activation Code (for Online). You are trying to enter a Code for TurboTax Online in a Desktop software (or vice-versa).
Look on your box from Costco and it will distinguish between TurboTax Online and TurboTax Desktop. They are not the same software, and codes from one cannot be used in the other.
If your box is for TurboTax Online, you can activate your code to your account on this link.
If your box is for TurboTax Desktop, you can download/install your software from this link.

Two weeks ago, a few filers from Idaho reported a similar issue for Idaho state taxes (https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/salt-deduction-error/00/3745484). The published formula for the add-back for SALT to the Idaho tax forms is clear and should result in correctly adding back all the federally reported SALT back in as income for the state, but Turbo Tax is not following the formula. Two weeks ago we provided our specific data for TurboTax to investigate and correct this simple mistake, but we have not had any responses from TurboTax since then. It's frustrating TurboTax lists these state forms as finalized, but these calculation errors persist. Because of TurboTax's lack of transparency, I suspect most people will likely file not realizing there is an error that could lead to significant underpayment of state taxes.

From my understanding, the IRS has finalized so this is purely a software update hold-up. However, on your very own form availability site, we are told the form is ready for filing. Can we get a clear, transparent answer to what is going on, what the target date actually is (none of this "x date or AFTER" nonsense), and if your form availability site should be disregarded for all future tax seasons?
