1) You are right, the allocated one does go to the 8962, so keep that one intact (sorry, I had forgotten about that; I am used to non-allocated ones). 2) The non-allocated one goes nowhere, so you can literally put anything on there. The IRS won't reconcile anything with a non-allocated portion of policy number because it already has the real 1095-A and can compare it with the 8962.

Thank you for the reply. I am a little confused now. After skip import, I'm presented with 5 choices but only two are possibilities: the "Other" choice you outlined in your response and Digital Assets (w/ 1099-DA listed beneath it). I completely understand the procedure that you described if Other is chosen. However, why would I not use the Digital Assets choice and choose "I don't have a 1099-DA" and proceed from there? Under "What type of investment I sold", the choices are digital asset (ie bitcoin, etc), NFT or stablecoin w/ choices of purchase, mining, staking, etc. for how I received the crypto. The only problem with using the Digital Assets choice, is it does not give the option to choose "Something other than a date" so that I can enter "Various" in a situation where I acquired the asset on different dates but sold lump sum. Any further opinion/comments are greatly appreciated!

I already have a turbotax account set up under my email address. I need to set up an account for a family member but want to use my same email address. How do I do this? The "create account" link makes me enter an email address for the user ID (and that email/user ID is linked to MY return).

Hi. Waited till 3/3/26. Open 2024 efiled return from desktop. Redo the amend for 1099INT. Still cannot efile. TT still not generate 1040x correctly. a) The 1040X form column A (original) line 1 does not have the original AGI, and b) line 6 does not show the original tax liability. c) Line 18 does not have the original refund amount as well. I go to the form format and manually fix the original column for line 1 and 6. Also change line 18 manually, Now I wonder is this will propagate to the state (CA my case) correctly for the CA amended return.

Turbo Tax asked me how much of my social security was taxed last year. I looked at last year's return to get this information. The program would not accept the amount, saying it could not be more than 85% of something. I don't understand. I used Turbo Tax to file my taxes last year, also. At that time, the number was fine with the program. Is there a solution to this?

No, we can't see anything regarding your refund. Once your tax return is accepted, the IRS takes over processing, and for status updates, you can check your TurboTax site tracking tool or use the IRS tool Where's my Refund?.
If you are receiving the Earned Income Tax Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit, your refund may take longer to receive. Refer to the IRS website: When to expect your refund if you claimed the Earned Income Tax Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit.
If you aren't receiving those credits and your refund is taking more than 21 days, you can contact the IRS for individual returns at 800-829-1040.
Refer to the TurboTax article What if my federal refund is taking longer than 21 days? For more information.

I've identified another glitch in TurboTax 2025 desktop version for Form 5695. For line 31, Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit Limit Worksheet, the form is supposed to auto-fill the amount from Form 1040, line 18, into the first line of the worksheet but it does not. This auto-fill function can not be over-written manually. Due to this auto-fill glitch, the tax credit for 5695 ends up being calculated as zero. I have worked with 3 different TurboTax support "experts"--whose assistance was riddled with glitches and errors--none of whom have been able to verify, escalate, or solve the problem. After 4 hours of effort to determine the cause and attempt to get it fixed, I am ready to throw in the towel on TurboTax. I will await the "fix" that is apparently due on March 6 and see if it solves this problem. If it doesn't, I'll print my forms, fill them out manually, mail them in, and stop using TurboTax in the future.

"5 days early" means you are supposed to receive your federal refund from one to five days sooner than the refund date shown on the IRS refund site. If it does not meet that "at least one day sooner" date, they are supposed to refund the $35 fee.
You have to pay attention to the date on the IRS refund site.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
