Appreciate the response, but it doesn't help my specific situation. I have now triple checked all of my entries and they are correct for each lot. I have all of the 3922 forms and have entered the info correctly to correct what is on my 1099-B.   I cannot clear this item to review so I cannot file my taxes.

After successful identity verification with the IRS, you can generally expect to receive your refund within 6 to 9 weeks. While the IRS officially states it can take up to 9 weeks, some taxpayers report receiving their refunds sooner, often within 2 to 4 weeks.    Track the status of your refund at the IRS Where's My Refund? link.   @Toddferris

I'm using desktop, Deluxe with State.  As others on this thread have done before me (thanks for your help), I go into 'forms' mode.  I scroll down to people wks (worksheet).  I select the one with my daughter's name.  I then scroll down to line 6 in Part IV Expenses and input her room and board expenses in the Total column.  I am able to save it and it does not disappear for me when I go back into TT.  It stays there and it seems to work, as I am not paying more tax.
Enter all the educational expenses on the student's People worksheet, not the Student Info worksheet.  Then Save.  The numbers should transfer over to the Student Info worksheet.

I'm heading over to do the same thing. Should have done it a while ago, but I foolishly waited two weeks for TurboTax to release the function on Feb 13 as promised (after they had failed their original deadline of February). TurboTax is charging over $100 more than H&R for the same functionality, and I was only sticking with them because I was a 15 year customer.

When I've used the import function in pre-2025 versions of Turbotax, it always loaded all the 1099's (B/D, R) for my return from a mutual fund site.  But in the 2025 version (home and Business), when I try to access my Franklin Templeton data, it loads from only a single specific account, not my entire set of funds.  Is this new bug/feature for this year, or am I missing something.

NO!!!!!   If you are someone else's dependent you can file your own tax return to seek a refund of tax withheld from boxes 2 and 17 of your W-2's but you must say in MY INFO that someone else can claim you as a dependent.   If you can be claimed as a dependent and you answer the question in My Info incorrectly, here is what happens if you e-file first:  Your Social Security number goes into the IRS system as having been used.  When your parents try to e-file, their e-file is rejected and they will find it impossible to e-file their own tax return.  Then they will have to print, sign and mail their return and wait for months for it to be processed.  You, meanwhile, will have to file an amended tax return on a special form called a 1040X, which also takes months for the IRS to process.  So make sure you know the correct answer to "Can anyone claim you as a dependent on their tax return?"

After years of using the Desktop version, and having still Windows 10 on my computer, I decided to try Turbo tax Online.    TurboTax Online indicates it’s completely secure. I started the return, signed off, and about three days later got an email directly from TurboTax saying “we see that you have entered your W-2 information. Keep going and finish up TurboTax and file your taxes.”. The online version of course charges you only when you file your taxes, so this is TurboTax trying to get their money by nagging me to finish my  return.   But more shockingly TurboTax is telling me that they are monitoring my account and they know specifically that I put in my W-2, and probably everything that I put there. This is utterly shocking that a company will monitor the steps the details of filling out a personal  tax return,  and know exactly what you’re putting in. How can this be secure? What else does Turbo Tax know about my supposedly secure online filing?   I feel this is completely inappropriate.   Have other folks experienced this?

I just found out two big ugly things about the Tip deduction, and its relationship to my QBI for my gig work with Instacart and Doordash.  First, the "tip deduction" can't exceed your "net profit, " and it reduces the amount of the QBI, which can effectively eliminate that deduction. For example, if you have a net business income of $2000 after business expenses and SE tax, and have tip income of $3000, you can only claim $2000 because that is your net business income, and you can't take the excess and apply it to your regular income to offset your AGI. this in turn, according to the IRS, takes your net down to 0 and effectively wipes out the QBI. In addition, you still pay the full SE tax on said income because that is calculated prior to the tip deduction, and you also pay the full SSI and medicare tax on the whole amount, including tips.
Once you have filed it, the state is in charge of who gets their money, who gets an audit, etc and when. You can check with the state for refund updates here.

Did you e-file yet?    If you have not e-filed you can make changes to your tax return.   You can change your state of residence in MY INFO and answer the pertinent questions regarding what state(s) you lived in and earned money in during 2025.       If you already e-filed, you have to wait.   If the return is rejected, you can make changes before you re-file.   If the return is accepted, you have to wait for it to be fully processed and then amend to make any changes.
