Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities,  There is no rule as to which one will come first or how much time there will be between their arrivals.  Some states process returns quickly and some are very slow.   STATE RETURN Make sure your state return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   To track your state refund:       ttps://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/state-taxes/contact-state-department-revenue/L9qVToi02_US_en_US?uid=m6e06um0

Here are the answers to your questions --  To deal with my lump sum payment, Turbo Tax asks for my 2024 Tax exempt interest. Do I just use my 2024 adjusted gross and subtract out the taxable income to determine the tax exempt interest? I don't see a specific line that shows that. No, this amount is on Line 2a, Form 1040-2024 Turbo Tax asks for my Taxable Railroad Retirement benefit. What line do I find that on my 1099 or 1099R? This amount for 2024, is found on Line 6b, Form 1040-2024 Line 3 and 7 are both lump sum payments that I enter into Turbo Tax, correct?  Is the purpose of Line 7 to show what prior year she received the lump sum?  No, box 3 is the amount she received in 2024 and box 7 is the amount of her contributions. Use only box 3.   @user17726029146

In Connecticut, you can deduct contributions made to an ABLE CT (Achieving a Better Life Experience) savings account from your state taxable income.   An ABLE account lets you put away money for you or someone else who has a disability.   Money you put in grows tax-free. You don't pay taxes on the money when you take it out, as long as you use it for "Qualified Disability expenses." The first $100,000 in the account does not count toward the asset limits for SSI or Medicaid. An ABLE CT account is used to encourage CT residents to save for disability-related expenses (like housing, health, or transportation) without losing eligibility for most Federal and Stat benefits by: Lowering the amount of income Connecticut taxes you on. Deduct up to $5,000 per year (for single filers) or $10,000 per year (for joint filers). As of January 1, 2026, you can now open an ABLE account if your disability began before age 46 (previously, it had to begin before age 26).

Hi,   I have been using Turbo Task Desktop (Home & Business) for many years.  In tax-year 2024, I incurred losses from sale of stock, but they don't automatically carry over as I assumed or their impact doesn't show.  Personal information was successfully imported from tax-year 2024.      I just started keying in the numbers (W2) for tax-year 2025 so, perhaps the loss carry-over doesn't impact the return and will only do so when I get to investments portion?   I am living in Texas and file "Married Jointly" as it has been for many years.   Awaiting comments!   Cheers, JJ
I am trying to import into TT home and business.

Sorry, thought that you wrote sign on...   If you are e-filing your tax return the 2024 AGI you entered is your electronic signature.  You cannot physically sign an e-filed tax return.   However, if you have decided to print and mail the tax return, you sign and date the Form 1040-SR on page 3 at the bottom of the page.
