I found a workaround. TT online was skipping form 1116 because our foreign tax paid was less than $600 MFJ.  I edited a 1099-DIV to have foreign taxes over $600. Then TT Online took me through the full dialog for form 1116 and I was able to enter the passive loss carryover.  Then I edited the 1099-DIV again to correct the foreign tax paid amount. Then TT kept form 1116 with the correct foreign taxes values and the carryover.  it would have been nice if TT had given me the option to fill out and submit form 1116 even though it wasn’t required.

You need to prepare your credit using New Mexico Rural Health Care Credit Claim Form. Then go through the New Mexico state program and find the screen that says Business Credits and choose the option that says Rural Health Care Practitioner Tax Credit. On the next screen you will enter your Credit Approval Number and the amount of the credit you are claiming. You can use this link from NMHealth to learn more.

If you have two W-2 forms with the same Employer Identification Number, and they withheld more than the maximum Social Security withholding ($10,918 for 2025), you should go to the employer and ask them to issue you a corrected W-2 and refund the excess Social Security withholding back to you.   If the employer refuses to correct the W-2, you can claim a refund of the excess Social Security tax withheld on Form 843.  This form is not supported by TurboTax and cannot be e-filed.  It will need to be filled out manually and mailed to the IRS.   If you had two W-2 forms with different Employer Identification Numbers, you can enter both forms in TurboTax and any excess Social Security tax withheld will get refunded back to you when you file your tax return.  The amount of the excess is reported on Schedule 3, line 11.   See Can I get a refund for excess Social Security Tax withheld? for more information.

Hi,   Thank you for the reply.  I changed the $10k to zero on the student worksheet (line 18) on the form, not line 17.  After that change, the $5,213 in additional income disappeared and I haven't deleted the 1098-Q form his return.  Also noticed the AOC credit he was getting also went away so his refund was adjusted downward.   Does all this make sense to you, is this the correct approach?
Do you mean you are paying your federal tax due from your checking account?  Did you specify a date?  If you did not specify a date, it will default to the filing deadline of April 15.
Thank you for quick answer. I will just go ahead and file my taxes.

Literally spent 3 hours on this. In TurboTax Business there is absolutely no way to file it yourself. You are stuck with Expert Assist. So basically, Intuit raised prices by 5X to file a corporate tax return? Just absolutely shameful. Expert assist should be an upgrade, not the core product and of course, you shouldn't be forced to use it.

Did you e-file state your tax return and was it accepted? Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.   You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large button labeled "Transmit my returns now".   After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.   Note - Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.  Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.   To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product. If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_...
