After I've entered my 1099R forms for my IRAs, Turbo asks me to enter the total value of all of my traditional IRA, SEP, and SIMPLE IRA on December 31, 2025.  Is this a required entry? What do Turbo tax do with this information? It states the information is sent by mail on Form 5498. However, Form 5498 is normally send in March.

Currently, TurboTax supports the manual entry of IRS Form 1099-DA. We are in the process of enhancing our CSV import and upload features to make this process more seamless.   Timeline: We expect the new CSV import functionality to be available soon. Please note that this is an estimated target as we finalize the experience. If you are ready to file now, you can still enter your information manually.    Otherwise, thank you for your patience while we get these automated tools ready for you!

It depends. If you are an employee, you cannot deduct employee expenses such as mileage to a temporary location, unless you are among a select group of workers, including armed forces reservists, performing artists, fee-basis government officials, disabled employees with impairment-related work expenses, and educators, who can still deduct certain unreimbursed employee expenses through 2025. After 2025, only educators are eligible to deduct qualified expenses.   If you live in a state that still allows these deductions, you can enter them in the Federal section of TurboTax under Employment expenses and the expenses will flow through to your State return. If you choose to work at a location far from your residence, that would still be nondeductible commuting.   If you are self-employed, you can generally deduct business mileage on Schedule C unless it represents commuting to a primary place of business from your home.   See this TurboTax tips article for more information.

It is your responsibility to figure out which years you did not file tax returns.   TurboTax cannot figure it out for you.  TT has no way to know if you used some other software for a year when you did not use TT.   Check your online account at the IRS or check the IRS for transcripts to see which years are "missing."   https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript   https://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account

Either the 1099-R is wrong, or Turbo Tax didn't interpret the data. It did not ask if it was 'rolled over' directly, but I did select the Roll over option when choosing which 1099-R

Are you using the Desktop program?  That happened to me too.   There was a big bug in the program transferring ALL the estimated payments made in 2024 into Schedule A.   But that was fixed a while ago.   Be sure to update your program, go up to Online- Check for Updates.    It should be only a 4th quarter payment made in January 2025.
It is still not fixed for me and I have the desktop mac premier version.  Unacceptable
as I am entering 1099-SA, when I finish it shows under 2024 entries, not 2025 like all other entries.

Thank you for responding. I want to be clear. This distribution that I have is not a total distribution - such as in the case of death proceeds or a cashing in of the policy - it is a distribution of dividends that exceed the premiums paid in over the life of the policy. The policy remains in place. The IRS considers that a taxable gain and "normal income". Why doesn't TurboTax offer that alternative in its question which only allows me to declare that it's from a "plan" either qualified or non-qualified. It is neither! It should be easy to make the answers include the correct choice. And to apply it to the appropriate income section on the 1040. Why hasn't this change been made? On what line on my 1040-SR will it be reported?

I'm using 2025 TurboTax Deluxe for both federal and state of Delaware (DE) tax returns TurboTax calculates  Line 5, DE PIT-RSA (state and local taxes) to be $7659 However I calculated them to be $6978.   And TurboTax Tax Payments worksheet also calculates themto be $6978. I attempted to locate and view the federal schedule A worksheet to determine the source of the missing $681.  But I can't find any way to do so because I'm taking the standard deduction on my federal return. How can I view the federal schedule A worksheet that is the source of infomation used in my DE schedule A worksheet?
I have used Edge, Chrome and Firefox and have the same issue with all three.  No difference between the browsers.
