Your employer may have made the determination that you are a statutory employee by virtue of the entery in box 13 on your W-2 form. It can apply to a variety of professions, such as a delivery driver, insurance salesman, an individual who works at home and other job activities. If you are a statutory employee, you can deduct expenses associated with your job on Schedule C. You can learn more in this TurboTax article.

A spouse can never be claimed as a dependent on a tax return, so no, her husband cannot claim her. The newlyweds can file a joint return and enter all of their combined income, etc on that return and get the MFJ standard deduction of $31,500 and would be able to use education credits (Lifetime Learning Credit or maybe student loan interest) on their tax return. Perhaps, depending on their income, they would be eligible for earned income credit.
Or....if you claim your daughter as a dependent, you would be the one who can use the Lifetime Learning Credit on your tax return, and on their joint return they would have to say that she can be claimed as someone else's dependent.

If your driver's license document number is not being accepted, it may depend on your state's requirements.
If you are in New York, you can find the Document Number (an 8 or 10-character combination of numbers and letters) on the back of your NYS Drivers License in the first line of text after IDUSA. You will not enter IDUSA as part of your document number. You will enter the first three numbers or characters after IDUSA.
Different states have different requirements for these document numbers. If your document number is not accepted, you should be able to continue without entering a document ID Number. Select the option "I do not have a drivers license" if it is available.
Click here for additional information on New York Document Number on your New York Drivers License. It contains pictures of your New York ID and shows which number needs to be entered.
TurboTax uses driver's license and non-driver ID information as verification to protect taxpayers from fraud and identity theft.
If TurboTax still won't accept your driver's license Document ID number, you can try clearing your cache and cookies. Then go back in and try entering it again. Click here for How to clear your cache. Click here for How do I delete cookies?
For many state returns that ask for a Document ID Number, you can actually leave the document ID (8-10 alphanumeric characters) blank and continue to e-file. Some States may require this number and you will have to print and mail your return instead. Click here for How do I file my return by mail?
Please return to Community if you have any additional information or questions and we would be happy to help.

You may be eligible for a federal tax credit of up to $7,500 for a new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) or up to $4,000 for a used one, provided the vehicle meets specific requirements regarding battery capacity, MSRP, final assembly in North America, and your income. Traditional hybrids that do not plug in generally do not qualify.

As a software engineer, I understand the pressure these folks are under. Sometimes there is some very complex things that happen "under the hood" that make what seems to be simple changes turn out to be extremely difficult and time consuming. I applaud the Engineers and patiently wait for this section to be done. As long as it's before April 15, I'm good.

@MelindaS1 thanks for providing information about the status for Oklahoma filers. There is a similar thread for Idaho filers at https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/salt-deduction-error/00/3745484 that was started two weeks ago. Even though two customers provided our protected returns and information from the Idaho state form instructions, there has been no updated information from TurboTax for two weeks. Has TurboTax recognized this error for Idaho returns? Is it being corrected and is there an ETA for completion? In the meantime, is there a way for me to file my federal return now and my Idaho return later?
