Thanks - I do not see anywhere to add a state. I tried to add a Tax Document and it let me do it (nothing I didn't already have), but said it's not going to add it to the return. In Tax Home all I get is the "you're all done" and "ready to mail" status, with an option to download. There doesn't seem to be anyplace else to add a state.

Where were you living during your internship? The District of Columbia or Virginia? And for how long?
This information will determine what state tax return you may need to file and whether or not it is a part-year return or a non-resident return. Your W-2 (if you received one and had state withholding) can help determine which state return you need to file. (Washington state does not have an individual tax return filing requirement.)
DC and VA have a state income tax reciprocity agreement, which means that when you live in either DC, VA or Maryland and work in one of the other states/jurisdictions, you only pay state tax in the state where you live.
Here are the filing requirements for DC and VA:
District of Columbia tax return filing requirements
Virginia tax return filing requirements

I also agree. Do not use TurboTax! My taxes are very simple and I selected the free software and the standard deductions. TurboTax online told me that because I'm a homeowner, I'm required to pay for the Deluxe preparation. However, when I went to another free site to prepare my state tax return, I discovered that NO other site is charging me for a federal return except Turbotax. They attempt to trick consumers. Customer service refused to help me or refund me. Use another service or prepare to be ripped off.

I have a partnership with guaranteed payments to their partners but also have a very significant loss on the partnership. They pmts are for services so they should be subject to SE tax even though there is a loss on the partnership or am I mistaken?? If I am correct, I have nothing flowing to my Schedule SE to pay the social security and medicare on the guaranteed pmts. What do I need to do???

I retired in October of last year. I had two funds from past employers came up for mandatory distribution. One because of time, the other because it was under the amount I could keep it invested any longer in their fund. I am confused if these are eligible for the lump sum retirement, lump sum distribution, or retirement income credits in Ohio. I used the standard deduction for my federal taxes if that matters.

Perhaps you are not designating that each 1099R belongs to each person on your return (Taxpayer and Spouse). Check your 1099R Summary page that one form is listed as belonging to the Taxpayer and that the second form belongs to your spouse.
Or there may have been a problem if you imported both 1099R forms. In that case, you may need import just one and then manually enter the second (or you can manually enter both).

The Form 1040-X for amending a 2025 federal tax return is estimated to be available in TurboTax on 02/19/2026
You will have to wait for the IRS to either Accept or Reject your filed federal tax return. If the return is rejected you can make the necessary changes and e-file again. If the return is accepted you will have to amend your original tax return. An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.
Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.
See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a current year tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-federal-tax-return-curr...

If you’re rolling over a 529 plan to a Roth IRA in TurboTax, the 1099-Q section might show taxes that don’t apply, since it treats the transfer as non-qualified. For these rollovers, the IRS doesn’t require you to report the 1099-Q.
If your rollover meets all the rules (the account is at least 15 years old, the beneficiary is the same, and you’re within the $35,000 lifetime limit), leave the 1099-Q out of TurboTax.
The 1099-Q should be kept for your records, but it doesn't need to be entered into the software, as the rollover is not taxable.
If the rollover was a 529-to-529 transfer (not a Roth rollover), ensure you indicate that it was rolled over to another qualified plan within 60 days to avoid taxation. This is a followup question in the interview after you enter the 1099Q.
If this is a Roth rollover, you need to delete the 1099Q entry. If working online go to
Tax Tools
Tools
Delete a form
Delete form 1099Q
If working in Desktop, go to the forms mode. Locate form 1099Q, select it, and then delete it at the bottom of the form when it appears in the right pane of your screen.
