It could be because of several reasons.    You haven't "Linked" the Income to the Credit Entering the foreign tax in the 1099-DIV section is just the first step. TurboTax will ask you to finish the Foreign Tax Credit interview to confirm you qualify.   Go to Deductions & Credits > Estimates and Other Taxes Paid > Foreign Taxes. When asked, select Take a Credit (not the Deduction). You must follow the prompts until you reach a screen that asks you to select the "Country." Even for mutual funds, you usually select "Various" or "RIC" (Regulated Investment Company). If you don't complete this separate section, the amount you entered on your 1099 will sit in "limbo" and won't flow to your Form 1040.   Your Tax Liability is Zero (or too low) The Foreign Tax Credit is a non-refundable credit. This means it can only reduce the tax you owe to $0; it cannot give you "extra" money back.  Look at Form 1040, Line 18. If that number is $0 (perhaps because your standard deduction and other credits already wiped out your tax), the Foreign Tax Credit will be $0. TurboTax will automatically turn that "unused" credit into a carryover for next year. You haven't lost the money; you just can't use it this year. The "Passive Income" Category  For foreign investments, the IRS requires you to categorize the income. In the Foreign Tax interview, ensure you select "Passive Income" for dividends and interest. If you accidentally select "General Category" or "Section 951A," and you don't have matching foreign wages or specific business income, the credit will be calculated as $0 because the "categories" don't match

It depends.  You would need to look at the date of his withdrawal.  If on the date of his withdrawal, if he was considered to be enrolled at least half time on at least May 1st, then he would meet the requirement for 5 months. If he was officially unenrolled prior to May 1st, then the would not be considered a student for the month of May and would not meet the 5 month rule.

I have TurboTax Premier Desktop and it does not have the capability yet for me to enter the depreciation on my rental house.  It tells me to wait and that that form will be coming in February.  It is February 16, I have updated the application and it still is not available.  This is not complicated, and I have checked with other sources and know that nothing has changed that will affect this in my situation.  When can I get this information so that I can finish my taxes?  It has a real impact on the bottom line.

I have been using turbotax for years.  I am an accountant and jsutify the convenience every year because the price was always $80 or less and my tax history is tracked.  I have always used deluxe with no problem.  This year I was forced to pay for the highest package although my return is far from complex, and I used no "expert."  If something isn't adjusted on my invoice, consider this my last year as a customer.
@gdgraph the 4562 issue only applies to Schedule E
Depending on the timing, you can fax your corrected forms and have the IRS and NY process them first.   @Angelatetaud

@marytony Not sure what the question is.   You are seeing on the IRS site that your refund is approved and that the IRS will issue it on a specified date several days from now---on 2-19.   They also tell you to allow up to five days for the refund to post to your account.   What "changes" are you expecting to see?  Where are you expecting to see a change?   If you mean on your TT account, that is never going to change from "accepted"-- once you file your tax return, TurboTax gets no updates from the IRS.   Your account will only show that your e-file was accepted; TT never knows if or when you got your refund.
February 13 is 3 days ago. Anymore update?

I still stand by my original advice. While your approach might look cleaner, it could lead to problems and increase the chance of an automated IRS notice, since the return wouldn’t be accurate.   Make the amendments first, then file your 2025 tax return using the amounts you calculated. Even though the IRS hasn't "accepted" the 2023/2024 amendments yet, your 2025 return will be factually correct based on the records you are providing.

You said to answer yes to this question "Box 6: Is the recipient of the distribution the  designated beneficiary?"   But just below this question it says "Recipient is not designated beneficiary." And the answer to this statement is no.   Further confusing things is the fact that the Yes/No radio button for this question appears just below the second quote identified above.   Thus, it seams the "not" is in error and should be removed from the above statement in the turbotax program.

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.
