You can deduct alimony paid to a former spouse as long as the divorce or separation agreement was executed by December 31, 2018. If it was executed after that date then spousal support (alimony) is not deductible on a federal tax return.

I installed turbo tax 2025 desktop on 12/3/2025 at that time it recognized my license key and worked. But today when I tried to access it, it no longer recognizes the license key. How do I get this to work as there appears that Intuit no longer provides an manner to connect anyone in support. It's a shame as I've been using this software for 20 years, and if I can not get this to work, I guess I'll have to use another tax product

When was the divorce finalized?
From the IRS
Deducting alimony paid. Alimony is deductible by the
payer, and the recipient must include it in income if you
entered into a divorce or separation agreement on or be-
fore December 31, 2018. Alimony paid is not deductible if
you entered into a divorce or separation agreement on or
before December 31, 2018, and the agreement is
changed after December 31, 2018, to expressly provide
that alimony received is not included in your former spou-
se’s income. Alimony paid is not deductible if you entered
into a divorce or separation agreement after December
31, 2018.
To enter alimony paid in 2025:

Yes, lines 25 and 26 of schedule H are completed automatically as part of your entries in Part I and II. They just summarize your total tax due. Part I of Schedule H would report both employer and employee social security and Medicare tax, Part II would report your federal unemployment tax, which the employer pays. So as long as you completed Part I and II of Schedule H, you will have reported all of the payroll taxes necessary.

If you received a "Success" message but your data hasn't appeared in TurboTax, it is likely due to recent browser security updates regarding Local Network Access.
To fix this you need to allow TurboTax to securely retrieve your data through your browser settings:
Locate the View Site Information icon (the "tune" or "lock" icon) on the far left of your address bar, just before the URL.
Find Local Network Access in the dropdown menu.
Toggle the switch to ON.
Refresh the page and attempt your import again.
If permissions aren't the issue, one of the following factors may be at play:
Brokerage Delays: While most forms arrive by January 31, many brokerages delay Consolidated 1099s (like the 1099-B) until mid-February due to complex reporting requirements.
Availability: Your brokerage must specifically "release" the import file to TurboTax. If it isn’t ready, we recommend checking back.
Connection Blocks: Active VPNs or aggressive Anti-Virus software can occasionally block the import feature between your bank and TurboTax. Try disabling them temporarily or switching to a different browser.

@MarilynG1, @user17712095505 , @user17708043672 , @Ann2023tax FYI: Today after spending 10 hrs trying to figure this out (over there days) and being on the phone with Intuit billing the last two days for 3hrs, I figured out my issue and maybe our issue. FOR ME, I purchased my TT via Big Home Tax and today Intuit Billing said my licenses were cancelled. If you Grok and Google AI about Big Home Tax they indicate it's not a valid reseller (TT billing confirmed), but Big Home Tax says they are and will help resolve the issue. I disputed with PayPal and my CC is now going after PayPal. I just bought a new license on Amazon, switched to the new license and guess what. Everything works. All this time the license went from valid to canceled and I lost the feature to open the payment window. Not sure why TT support doesn't know this or give us a better message. Live and learn. To find out if this is your issue, call the Intuit billing department and ask if your license is valid if you got from a non big-box retailer or Amazon. Good luck all.
