Because States handle Pass-Through Entity Tax (PTET) payments differently, the best option to report the tax paid on your behalf is as an additional estimated tax payment. The payment should appear at some point in the state interview where you can identify the amount as applied to your state tax liability.   Assuming you received Schedule K-1 (Form 1065), report the PTE Tax Paid by the partnership as follows: During the K-1 interview, enter for Box 13 Code ZZ as "Taxes and State Income Tax Withheld."  Go to Deductions and Credits >> Estimates and Other Taxes Paid >> Estimates.  Click Start/Update, then Start beside State estimated taxes for 20XX.  Choose Add another payment. Select the state from the drop-down menu. Enter 1/1/20XX as the payment date and enter the amount paid on your behalf. When you work through the State income tax section, look for questions about how your state handles income differently or business income adjustments. This process will apply the PTE payment against your state income taxes due. Look for a Tax Payment Worksheet that should display the State tax withholding on Form K-1.

TurboTax File your own taxes may be found here.   In TurboTax Online, you may be able to Switch Products or Clear and Start Over.   Switch Products or Clear and Start Over may be found in the lower left hand corner of the screen if it is available to you.   See also this TurboTax Help.    As long as you:   have not submitted payment,  deducted the TurboTax fee from your refund, or  registered your product,  you may erase your return and start from scratch in TurboTax Online. If you have done any of these things, you will need to manually edit your return.

The IRS does offer First-Time Penalty Abatement (FTA) for taxpayers that have not been assessed any penalties (except for underpayment of estimated tax) for the three years preceding the penalty year.  The abatement applies to failure-to-file, failure-to-pay, or failure to deposit penalties for a single tax year (or period).  It does not apply to under payment of estimated tax, which is essentially just interest on tax owed which cannot waived.

It depends. You can obtain assistance if you like and if you are not ready to go forward yourself. Use the information below if you would like to let us review your file.   If you would like to send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information it would help.  If you would like to do this, here are the instructions:  (Don't forget to give us the state)   TurboTax Online: Open your return -Go to the menu panel on the left side of your return and select Tax Tools.  Then select Tools below Tax Tools. A window will pop up which says Tools Center.   On this screen, select Share my file with Agent. You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is.  Click okay through this screen and then you will get a Token number. Reply to this thread with your Token number and your state. This will allow us to open a copy of your return without seeing any personal information. TurboTax Desktop: If you like, you can send a copy of your return that will be scrubbed to eliminate your personal data by using these steps: Click on Online in the top left menu of TurboTax Desktop for Windows Select 'Send Tax File to Agent'* > Follow the prompts to reach the token number. Enter your email used for TurboTax > Enter your code > Send Write down or send an image of your token number and state then place in this issue. We can then review your exact scenario for a solution. Please also tell us any states included in the return. This is necessary for us to view the return. *If using a MAC, go to the menu at the top of the screen, select Help, then, 'Send Tax File to Agent')   We will be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return to provide you with a resolution.   @user17733491813
Agent responded about 3 hours after buying assistance. Found answer online and corrected error in TT. So, never needed live assistance.

The expanded instructions for the 2025 IA 1040 Line 2 states: Enter your federal taxable income as reported on federal 1040, line 15. If the amount of federal taxable income is zero, subtract the amount reported on IA 1040 lines 1d and 1e, and federal form 1040 line 13b from the amount reported on IA 1040, line 1c and report this amount (this amount can be negative).   Turbo tax does not appear to subract the federal form 1040 line 13b amount.  This results in tax due when the amount on  federal form 1040 line 13b is large enough to make IA 1040 line 2, 0

Generally speaking, a single member LLC would be considered self-employed and would file a Schedule C.  None of those categories would apply to that.   However, an LLC can elect to be taxed as an S Corporation (by filing Form 2553 with the IRS) or C Corporation (by filing Form 8832 with the IRS).  These elections would not allow you to file a Schedule C and would require a separate Form 1120-S for the S Corporation or Form 1120 for a C Corporation.   You may want to contact Walmart to discuss if you are able to participate in their Marketplace without being one of the entities you mentioned.  It may just be that they have stricter rules than does Amazon for participating as a Seller on their website.

@IMCABANA    You don't need to go thru those calculations...   The taxable amount has already been calculated for you, and is in box 2a. ___________________ Unfortunately, there is a follow-up question in the interview that  is misleading you for your situation...   If your box 2a has a non-zero number in it..(not blank, nor marked as undetermined), and that number is somewhat lower than the box 1 number, due to an after-tax contribution amount that is noted in box 5...then edit that retirement form again, and when you get to the following page (below), answer it as-if the displayed edits were present  (i.e. you needed to answer YES).     Answering YES will use the box 2a $$ amount on your for 1040.  Checking lines 5a and 5b on your form 1040, before and after entering that 1099-R, and the 5b amount should be lower than line 5a.     (But if you answered No, and already entered some $$ in the "General" or "Simplified" calculation area ,you might need to delete your CSA-1099-R first and re-enter it from scratch...not sure of that though)   ______________________________

In TurboTax, in the Pennsylvania state income tax return, at the screen What kind of retirement income do you have from Pennsylvania, select the retirement distribution that applies to your income.   Pennsylvania Personal Income Tax Guide, page 48, states:   Exempt Distributions from an Employer Provided Retirement Plan    Under Pennsylvania law, payments commonly recognized as old age or retirement benefits are not subject to tax. In order to be considered exempt retirement benefits, the payments must come from an eligible Pennsylvania retirement plan and must be paid to persons retired from service after reaching a specific age or after a stated period of employment.    Plan other than Employer Provided Retirement Plan    If a taxpayer receives distributions from a plan that is not an employer provided plan, such as an Individual Retirement Arrangement (IRA), the department will consider the distributions exempt retirement income so long as the taxpayer is not required to pay a penalty for early withdrawal. For example, if a taxpayer received a distribution from an IRA after retirement, death, disability, separation from service unforeseeable emergency or attaining the age of 59½ and a penalty is not paid, the distribution is not included in the taxpayer’s compensation.

Make sure you entered the number exactly as it is on your driver's license, including any spaces or special characters.  If you continue to experience issues, you can try the following and then enter the number again: Go out of your program and go back in. Clear your cache and cookies. Try a different Web Browser. Also if your state does not require you to enter your driver's license number, you can skip it and continue with your return.

The AGI reject is a common issue.  Fix the AGI and efile it again.   Try entering 0 for the AGI. The IRS might have processed your return later so the AGI didn't get entered in time.  Especially if you mailed it.  That works for most people. I can confirm that this annoying bug is still there. The form doesn't show up in the Forms tab, even if there's data added in Easy Step. Clearly a bug. I have no Canadian income, no Canadian taxes, no Canadian IRA. This is par for the Intuit course. There are still bugs in the software that have been there for YEARS. I've reported them, they still show up in the following year's software. Intuit overcharges for it's programs, and cares very little for its customers.
