When entering my 1098-T, do I need to only include the amount I paid in tuition from my Chapter 35 benefits?  Let's say that my tuition was 6000 (box 1).  I had tuition waivers/scholarships for 4000 (box 5), and I paid the remaining 2000.  Do I only enter 2000 in the "Amount from employer, GI bill, or veterans’ program" box? Or do I have to report the full stipend amount over the year?

Received an email asking if problem resolved… tried TurboTax Business again yesterday, there were no new updates, and the same problem occurred.   Based on the number of other users having the same problem, and the sensitivity of the problem (this could be perceived by thousands of non tax people as a problem since the K1 is sent to the business owners not some tax entity) I would hope that TurboTax would look into this as a problem.

No, you do not need to amend. Your daughter will still appear on your return even though you are not claiming her as a dependent.      The IRS rules for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) differ from the rules for the Child Tax Credit and the Dependency Exemption. If you are the custodial parent (the child lived with you for more than half the year), you are the only one eligible to claim the EITC, even if you have agreed to let the other parent claim the child as a dependent for the Child Tax Credit.   When it's not your year to claim your daughter as a dependent here's what happens in TurboTax: The child will not be listed as a dependent on the first page of your Form 1040. The child will be listed on your Schedule EIC. Under IRS rules, the EITC benefit stays with the custodial parent. You can claim the EITC with a "qualifying child" even if you are not claiming that child as a dependent.
