Turbotax Business 2025 is messed up.   On the e-File forms workflow, it asks for me to sign an 8822-B, but then displays the 8453. It did the same thing with the 8283 which should not be in the mix at all in the first place. There are no charitable contributions. Nonetheless, it asks you "Let's get a signed copy of the 8822-B but then shows the 8283 on the next screen. That's totally a bug. Even the displayed workflow is wrong.   Again, there is no 8283 form anywhere in TurboTax Business 2025. There are no charitable contributions. If I search the entire tax return PDF (all worksheets) for "charitable" there are no entries.   At this point, I will wait until February 6th and see once the 8283 form is actually available if that somehow solves the problem. I'm not hopeful given this glaring bug.   I'll probably need to start over, from scratch, and hope that will work. I would do that today if I had any confidence it would work.    This is the first time I've ever had such a glaring issue with TurboTax.   I totally appreciate all your terrific help and kind replies. You were extremely helpful in helping me try every possibility.   Thank you!

Line 17 of Form 8825 reporting real estate income and expenses contains an expense category for "Other" expenses on line 30(a). The instructions for that entry state that you would have to attach schedule A to breakout your "other" expenses. It also states that Schedule A is only required if you are required to include a schedule M-3, which is only required if you have assets of ten million dollars or more. I believe that is why you cannot break out your other expenses, so you can just enter a sum in that entry of expenses  for categories not pre-populated on Form 8825, Line 17.

Hi, I have an S corporation. In 2025, the S-corp earned $1,500 of income during 29 days in California, and the rest of the year the activity was in Virginia. The S-corp terminated its California activity on January 29, 2025, and started operations in Virginia immediately after the California termination. The business activity is service-based (accounting services). Do I need to file Schedules R-1 and R-2? Since I do not have any other income, I do not need to report anything on the other Schedule R sections, correct? Since I have to file one Federal and two states I am confused how to file them. CA return is a final return should I use Schedule R?
I'm right there with you and it seems impossible to talk to a human about TT's program error.

I have a timeshare in Mexico.  I rented out the lock-off (part of the unit) through a rental company for 7 days.  They are sending me a1099-K (not sure if it will be for the full amount of the rental, or less what they charged to rent it).  In either case, am I allowed to deduct the maintenance fee for the lock-off (if I can determine what that portion is of the total maintenance fee.  I used the remainder of the unit for the same week.

Since today is the first day the IRS is accepting tax returns for 2025, I started my return using TurboTax.  When I got to the section for Deductions and Credits, I received a message that the forms needed for completing the Deductions and Credits portion of the tax return are unavailable.   When can I expect these forms to be available so that I can submit my return?

I was notified it's now available.  I filled out all appropriate fields with no issues, paid to file, and then all of a sudden am having errors with my Daikin QMID code thus TT will not let me e-file.  Very frustrating.  My QMID is accurate, I went straight to the manufacturer to get it.  Anyone else in the same situation?

When I go to:   Deductions & Credits > Estimates and Other Taxes Paid > Foreign Tax Credit.   I see this:   I don't see a path to any of these: "Tell Us About Your Foreign Taxes," select "None of these apply" to bypass the wage-only screens. Choose Take the Credit (usually more beneficial than a deduction). Select Passive Income as the category (Real estate gains fall under this). ... Thanks.
