Where did you get the txf file? My old notes say you can only import a txf to the Windows Desktop program, not to Online or Mac. I’ll look for a current FAQ.

What is "it" that says your refund is $600 more? And why do you think you paid $600? ("I thought I paid $139 not $600")
How can I see my TurboTax fees?

Not on Windows, this is all on Mac. Checked OneDrive, iCloud Drive, Dropbox, etc for exports - nothing there. I'm beginning to think it's either a unique Mac OS virus or the aliens have arrived after all because none of this makes sense. I did find a 2023.tax2023 file on a backup drive, but I don't still have the 2023 TT app installed and the 2024 version won't load it except to transfer data - not terribly helpful but something anyway. Ready to give up, thanks for the advice.

I am unable to import a TXF file into my return. I am using the 2025 desktop version of Mac Business and Home. I'm following the instructions by selecting File> Import and selecting the correct txf file. But when I click Continue, a pop-up message appears indicating that the import was unsuccessful and asking me to enter the information manually. I have tried renaming the file and moving the file to the desktop. Is there any way to work around this and import the file?

@zumadog49 If you are on a Windows computer now...check to see if you have a OneDrive cloud account. Depending on how you have it set, a file might be removed from your computer, but kept in the cloud storage, after 30 days not being used. I've set mine up to "Always Keep On This Device", though they still get backed up in the cloud

This is currently happening to me where I am at the filing stage and it says "check my return" and then shows me tax return amount and then goes to the "products page" to see if I will pay. I opt for the free version, and then it starts all over again at "check my return". I do this about three times and then I get logged out. Would love assistance with this. I've tried all the listed solutions above: different browser, incognito browser, clearing cookies and cache and still it logs me out. Feels like a website glitch.

You don’t report that directly. She can deduct the actual expenses no matter how or from where she paid them. If you are a sole proprietor or self employed, you don't account for cash, money or loans you put into the business. The schedule C is all your personal income and expenses in the first place. Doesn't matter what account the money came out of. It is not income or an expense. You just enter the gross income you received and actual expenses you paid. If you paid for something you can take the expense. Doesn't matter how you paid it. You deduct the money you put in to the business by entering the expenses you used it for.
