I am entering my home office deduction on the worksheet. I've done this every year and have not had any problems. This time I'm using the simplified method and it won't accept my square footage. It keeps telling me that I need to enter 300 or the lesser square footage. Neither seems to satisfy it. Any input?

We recently sold part of our farm. I am getting several answers different answers about how to list this sale. Does it go under personal assets or do I need to add it to the farm assets (like tractors etc) and do it that way. Also, how does IRS know how much we originally paid for the farm by the acre?

I filed for taxes and realized that my refund is just $8 more than the amount it cost me to pay for turbo tax deluxe I was completely unaware I was being charged for deluxe and if I had known I would’ve skipped my state return and got turbo tax free which would’ve brought my net return to $96

I have read https://www.irs.gov/retirement-plans/are-you-covered-by-an-employers-retirement-plan multiple times.  It is still not clear to me. I left my previous employer last year, but I still have a balance in my previous employer 401k this year.  This does not mean I am covered this year, right?

How did you pay?   Do you have a bank or credit card statement that shows that you paid?     DID YOU E-FILE?   Did you e-file?   Did you go through all three steps of the FILE section and click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”     When you e-file your return you will get two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say your return has been transmitted; the second one will tell you the IRS has accepted  or rejected your federal e-file.  If you filed a state return, there will be a third email (usually a day or two later) that tells you if the state e-file was accepted or rejected.   Check your e-file status:   https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/    What does it say in your account?  Does it show that the return was accepted?   Or does it say something else---like "rejected," "printed," or "ready to mail?”
I will use ANYTHING but TURBOTAX moving forward!   I cannot get my data! Your support can't help me.   YOU SUCK!

The deduction for "compensation to officers" affects the corporate return, and all K-1s will reflect that deduction.  It is not allocated to the shareholder that received the wages.   If you are referring to Box 17, Code V, that is for the Qualified Business Income deduction, and that is based on ALL wages and split between each shareholder, based on the shareholder's ownership.  The fact that one shareholder received wages and others did not will not change the amount in Box 17, Code V.

Are you talking about different schedule Cs?   If you removed the income then where would you move it to?  A different schedule C?
