Enough is enough. Poor planning, barely any notice. I'm leaving TurboTax/Intuit for HR Block. Treat your customers better!

You do not enter anything about a 1095C. When it asks if you have a 1095A, say NO, and move on in the software. Only a 1095A for marketplace health insurance (aka "Obamacare" or Affordable Care Act") from healthcare.gov gets entered. You do not ever enter anything about a 1095B or a 1095C.

Can you clarify the situation ... Why can't you exceed $25,000 for Section 179?

It is a false statement because Microsoft has stated clearly(see my original post) that they will support Windows 10 until October 13, 2026 with the Extended Security Updates ESU Program. Hence Intuit is not being honest in saying that Windows 10 is not and will not be "secure".

If you already filed a 2024 return then you can just abandon the return you started in TurboTax. Nothing will happen with it. It will not be filed.

You have not asked a question. You can file a joint tax return even if one spouse has little or no income. Is that what you are trying to ask about?
If you are legally married at the end of 2025 your filing choices are married filing jointly or married filing separately when you prepare your 2025 return next year.
Married Filing Jointly is usually better, even if one spouse had little or no income. When you file a joint return, you and your spouse will get the married filing jointly standard deduction of $31,500 (+ $1600 for each spouse 65 or older) for 2025. You are eligible for more credits including education credits, earned income credit, child and dependent care credit, and a larger income limit to receive the child tax credit.
If you choose to file married filing separately, both spouses have to file the same way—either you both itemize or you both use standard deduction. Your tax rate will be higher than on a joint return.
Some of the special rules for filing separately include: you cannot get earned income credit, education credits, adoption credits, or deductions for student loan interest. A higher percent of your Social Security benefits may be taxable. Your limit for SALT (state and local taxes and sales tax) will be only $5000 per spouse. In many cases you will not be able to take the child and dependent care credit. The amount you can contribute to a retirement account will be affected. If you live in a community property state, you will be required to provide additional information regarding your spouse’s income. ( Community property states: AZ, CA, ID, LA, NV, NM, TX, WA, WI)
If you are using online TurboTax to prepare your returns, you will need to prepare two separate returns and pay twice since with online, you get one return per fee.

@karen_dell-apa Unfortunately, TTX Online appears to have shut down for 2024 tax preparation as-of 1 November. The following indicates 15 OCT , but they seem to have allowed folks to continue working on their files thru 31 October. Thus, for those using the Online "Free" software you will have to buy/download/install the 2024 desktop software to continue. Log back into your Online tax file, and follow the directions there. ______________

Your first RMD must be completed by April 1 2026. Whatever action you took through Dec 31 goes on your 2025 tax return.

Will those 2025 QCDs reduce the remaining 2025 RMD only if I take the RMD before dec 31 or will it reduce the remaining 2025 RMD even if I take it in 2026?

I am not a new member, I am a long time Turbotax user. However, no Turbotax for Windows 10 then bye bye Turbotax, me not going to use Turbotax online.
