It sounds like you may need to update your state withholding form with your employer to ensure you have enough state income taxes withheld from your paycheck.  Maryland does have a withholding calculator that you can use to assist.   You can then take the amount from that form and enter it on Form MW507 to submit to your employer.  Your entries on this form will then be used to calculate the amount of state income taxes that need to be withheld per pay period to ensure you pay enough in state income taxes to minimize any potential underpayment penalties in the future.   @y2kconfuse

If it was "net operating loss" through the sole proprietorship, would this offset the IRA withdrawal income?

I am planning to open my own scorp this year, and I would like to buy a new company truck for this business. Can I use this expense as section 179? And when I file at the end of the year, can it reduce the taxes that I have paid from a W-2 with my regular employer? So I would have two sources of reported income, the W-2 with my regular employer, and 1099 with my s Corp. But I want to know if I can use the expense of my truck from my personal business to be deducted from any taxes I paid with my regular employer.
Thank you.
Why is it so expensie to file taxes?

@jjj80rice Did you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund?  Is your refund taking an unusually long time to arrive?  Or was your refund seized to pay a debt you owed? if so, you signed an agreement that says TT can withdraw its fees from your account.  TurboTax would have sent several emails to you before they took the money out of your account.   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/intuit-account-billing/bank-account-auto-debited-turbotax-fees/L3rDdVynu_US_en_US?uid=m6bdgedq   TURBOTAX SAYS: How do you justify debiting my account? The provision is spelled out in the Pay With My Refund Agreement, which you agreed to when you opted to pay with your refund. In addition, by clicking the "I Agree" button below, you electronically sign and authorize Intuit (through its third party processor) to debit the TurboTax Fees, Additional Products and Services Purchased and any applicable sales tax from your bank account number identified in the Agreement below, in the event that you do not receive a tax refund that is sufficient to pay for them.       How can I see my TurboTax  fees?      https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/intuit-account-billing/review-fees-turbotax-online/L1XnIzgzg_US_en_US?uid=m682vq7k

Turbo tax said they would do my taxes for a total of 242.00 but my federal tax of 281.00 was intercepted by the government for arrears of child support I now keep getting notifications from turbo tax to pay 242.00 or it will taken from my bank account.  I don't have it. Didn't receive the money for federal tax. Isn't there a way to reduce my fee or get it dropped all together?? Please anybody who knows help me figure this out.
TurboTax and the IRS save return for seven years, and then they are gone.  Sorry.

First, you paid for preparation.   E-filing is never guaranteed, and often beyond Turbotax's control.  You can still use the return you paid to prepare by printing and mailing it.     Second, even if you could e-file, you would be considered late unless you obtained the normal extension online before April 15.  To claim the automatic overseas extension, you must file by mail and attach a written explanation.  See the instructions here. https://www.irs.gov/individuals/international-taxpayers/us-citizens-and-resident-aliens-abroad-automatic-2-month-extension-of-time-to-file   So what you need to do is, use the dummy SSN to pass the program checks, then print your return.  Cover the dummy SSN with some white-out (or black it out I suppose), and then write "NRA" on the line where it says "If treating a nonresident alien spouse as a resident, enter their name here" (this is a slight update from older instructions).   (See picture.). Then mail the package to the IRS, probably using a shipping service with tracking and proof of delivery.
You will need to print out the return and then use whiteout on the dummy social security number and use a pen to put in NRA.  Then sign and mail the return.  Do not attempt to efile at all.   Pleas... See more...
You will need to print out the return and then use whiteout on the dummy social security number and use a pen to put in NRA.  Then sign and mail the return.  Do not attempt to efile at all.   Please let us know exactly what payment is being asked for so we can try to resolve  or explain that issue.

You will complete a non resident return for SC but NC will give you credit for the tax you pay to SC.

Did your CA returns show a tax due?  How did you pay it?   Your only proof of payment is your bank statement or credit card showing the payment coming out. Turbo Tax only passes your bank account number to the state for the state to take it out of your account.  And  double check your bank account and routing number with your bank. Some banks use a different routing number for deposits and payments. Check the printout or PDF of your return; look for the state cover sheet with the Turbo Tax logo. If you owed tax, it will show the payment information and how/when you decided to pay. Read the state payment instructions carefully since most states cannot be paid from within the TT system and requires additional steps.
I received messages from the state of California saying I owe money for two different tax years that you guys submitted. who do I talk to about this
