In TurboTax Online, you can drag/drop a PDF file of your 1099-B into your return.  In TurboTax Desktop, enabling LAN setting in your browser and disabling your anti-virus programs solved the import issue for many users.   Remember that the IRS already has copies of all your 1099's, so using the Summary Method to report category totals is all that's required on your tax return.   @rtom218443

After finishing up my taxes, at the end of the interview in online TurboTax, a screen asks for permission for 2 things.   "We just need your OK on a couple of things:   1) Let us use your tax info to improve your experience 2) Share your data with Intuit"   The Help popup for that screen says I do not have to agree to either of those. Yet there is no clear way to decline--at least on that screen. There is only a button that says REVIEW AND SIGN.  Do I have to click that button to advance to a screen where it can then be declined?  I don't like clicking a button without knowing what is going to come up next.  Since that is the only possibility to move forward, can I assume that I can decline on the next screen?     Maybe someone who has already gone through that section can tell me what they encountered on the next screen, and if it could be declined there.

All figures are approximately rounded numbers for simple mental math: Parents' home sold after Mother's death 2025 Father passed away 2015 house was owned 50/50% each house has licensed appraisal for date of death for each parent.   filling out Father's trust return for 2025  Had 25,000 of dividend income Distributed 25,000 of income Entered house sale price and cost basis appropriately had a $100,000 gain on sale.   Turbo tax taxing it the house gain at the regular trust income rates (est 40%, calculates $40,000 taxes due)   Should not the house sale be taxed at the capital gains tax rate of max 20% (est $20,000 due?)   Thank you
Sorry you can only combine the RMD from IRA accounts.  You need to take each 401K RMD separately.   And you might have needed to start taking the RMDs when you turned 73.  @dmertz
02/26/26 I have access to the form however, form 5695 is not calculating the energy credit correctly.  Specifically, lines 29a thru 29h.  Is there an update planned to correct the error in calculation?
My activation problem has been going on for two weeks prior to 02/26/26.  Support staff tries to help with screen share, but the problem remains.
The withdrawal from the one account should cover the requirements but is RMD calculated on a per account basis?

Thanks.  In my case, the installation of heat pump was not part of home construction.  This was in existing home (not new construction).
I agree with the February 27th issue. Schwab actually posted on the website that forms may not be available until on or before February 27th. That's what we get for trying to do our taxes early LOL. ... See more...
