Your refund was processed by Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, regardless of the name on the check. Either they have your funds, or they sent the funds back to the IRS. If SBT has your funds, you can try calling them. However, they may simply send the funds back to the IRS as a safety precaution, because in the past they have been scammed by people claiming misdirected refunds.

Once the IRS has your funds returned from the third party banks, they should mail a check to your address of record, although that will take 4-6 weeks after they receive the funds. If it is longer than that, you can ask the IRS to trace the refund and issue a new check.

Turbotax simply will not have any information about your refund at this point. Turbotax can't access your account at the IRS, and banking privacy laws probably prevent Turbotax from directly accessing your information at SBT. You need to work with SBT or the IRS directly.

No. If you are not using them on your taxes this year, you do not need to keep them. You can select remove them. When you say "I went to report them this year" do you mean you have 1099's from the same company? If so, you can select yes to keep them just click edit and enter the numbers instead of the company info. You can also remove them. Basically, it is just a way to save a few extra minutes when entering the forms. As long as you do not duplicate the forms and you remove them if you entered them separately, it will all be the same in the end.

Yes, you were supposed to file form 5405 with your 2023 tax return, declaring that you moved out of the home because you transferred it to a spouse in a divorce. You would not be required to make any payment for 2023 or 2024, because that responsibility is transferred to the spouse who remained in the home.
The easy solution is to just tell Turbotax you are still living in the home, and allow the program to make the final payment.
The correct solution in your case is to file without a payment for 2024 (you will have to mail your return instead of e-filing). Then prepare and file an amended 2023 return that reports you moved out and transferred responsibility for the credit to your spouse who remained in the home. You should get a refund of the payment you made in 2023.
On the other hand, if you DID report moving out on your 2023 tax return using form 5405, then the IRS credit database is wrong. Just file by mail for 2024, there is no need to amend your 2023 return.

I sent my taxes in at the end of February, everything was signed and dated. Then they asked for more time to review the taxes. OK, fine. Now they want 60 more days to review and send my tax return to me. WTH!!! Update: They just told me it was going to be 180 days. I dint know who I pissed off, but this is rediculas. The soonest I will be getting it is June 3rd. Completely unacceptable with all of the digital programs they have that basically do your taxes for you. And why aren't they advanced enough to have it so that taxes get checked on the way in? Just disappointed.

The IRS says they will automatically apply penalty relief based on your address, if you are in an affected area. If you can, delete the penalty form, or decline turbotax's offer to calculate a penalty. Submit your return without the penalty form, and let the IRS calculate it for you. If they do bill you for a penalty, you can call the number on the notice to have the penalty abated.

Or----did that total amount include a federal refund and a state refund? Federal and state refunds do not arrive together; they are issued separately by completely separate entities.

If you are filing an amended return, the amount in your summary is likely your original amount you were getting back. When you added additional income, you increased your tax liability, so you likely received more back than you should have. When this happens, the amount due also includes paying back what you originally received that you shouldn't have received. The amount on your form 1040 will still match the refund you saw in the summary, but then the other amount is likely what you will see on the 1040X.

You will need to contact the IRS for information. It might be easiest to set up an account with them.

Taxpayers with a Social Security number or an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number can create or access their IRS Individual Online Account to get information they need to file their return.

View balance owed, payment history and schedule payments.
Cancel scheduled payments.
Get transcripts.
View or create payment plans.
See digital copies of some IRS notices.
View key data from their most recently filed tax return, including adjusted gross income.
Validate bank accounts and save multiple accounts, eliminating the need to re-enter bank account information every time they make a payment.
View, approve and electronically sign power of attorney and tax information authorizations from their tax professional.
