2024 state estimated taxes paid in 2025
By correctly dating it in 2025, TurboTax should realize it is not deductible on your 2024 Federal Schedule A (since you didn't pay it in 2024), which often clears the conflict on the Refund Worksheet.
I agree that you do not want to file a return with an override but sometimes a temporary override will break the cycle and reset the program. If the program is still not working, try an override and go through the step by step section completely through the federal and state and look for where information changed. Correct items in step by step and then you can cancel the override.
Finally, sometimes you will see an error popping up until you have finished a state return and the program has a chance to put all the pieces together.

@sweiner7 OK...then another FIX. Didn't realize you uploaded PDF files. Delete the 1099–INT or 1099-DIV forms you imported as PDF files. Those PDF uploads can cause all kinds of errors......probably on worksheets that only desktop users can access and correct.. Delete each one and enter them manually...."Type it in myself". Only imports of specialized tax files, directly from the creator of those 1099-INT or -DIV forms, are error free 96.22% of the time Yes...someday.... the A.I. that is used to interpret those PDF forms will be able to do that without error, but not yet

Thank you. I had the same issue when using the desktop version of TurboTax Premier. No IRA distributions but two 1099-R to report for a 401K to IRA rollover and a Roth 401K to Roth IRA rollover. Line 4 on Form 1040 has the rollover box checked but no amounts. Line 5 on Form 1040 has the rollover box checked and company distributions. Filed over the weekend and the federal form was rejected for this reason "F1040-478 - If Form 1040, 'IRADistributionRolloverInd', 'IRADistributionQCDInd' or 'IRADistributionOtherInd' is checked, then 'IRADistributionsAmt' or 'TaxableIRAAmt' must have a non-zero value.

Wow, that sounds like a class action lawsuit waiting to happen! Sounds like a loser unless you can show that there have been security breaches over those 20+ years.

Hi Patricia, Thanks a lot! I found a way to do it with the TurboTax Business Online version as well. I did below steps, which seems to be the same idea you outlined in the Desktop version, but done with the Online version: 1. In the "Forms" section from bottom left-bar, go to Form 1065 p5-6: Return of Partnership Income, section "Partners' Liabilities Smart Worksheet". There, on section D (Recourse), assign the Special Allocation (for example "A") next to the balance you want to assign to owners 2. In the Schedule K-1 Worksheet form, for each owner, go to Special Allocations sections, and enter the loan amount per owner next to the chosen special allocation ("A" in this example) With above flow, TurboTax was able to show no errors in the error-check phase, and the resulting Schedule K-1's of all owners reflects the correct recourse loan amounts I hope it helps! Thanks

If you are filing as Married Filing Separately you are not eligible for the deduction. If you are Single and your AGI is over $150,000 or Married Filing Jointly and your AGI is over $250,000 you are not eligible for the deduction.
If you are age 65 or older and meet the requirement, the additional deduction is automatically added on your federal tax return.
Standard deductions for 2025
Single - $15.750 add $2,000 if age 65 or older Married Filing Separately - $15,750 add $1,600 if age 65 or older Married Filing Jointly - $31,500 add $1,600 for each spouse age 65 or older Head of Household - $23,625 add $2,000 if age 65 or older
New Bonus Standard Deduction (OBBB): An additional $6,000 deduction for taxpayers 65 and older. This is per eligible individual, meaning a married couple both over 65 could get $12,000. Important: This bonus deduction is temporary, lasting from 2025 through 2028. Income limitations: It phases out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $75,000 for single filers and $150,000 for joint filers.
The amount is calculated on Schedule 1-A, Part V, with that amount flowing to Form 1040 Line 13b
Look at your Form 1040 -
You can view your Form 1040 plus Schedules 1, 2 and 3 at any time using the online editions. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.

TurboTax does not receive any kind of tax refund, federal or state.
Have you factored in the TurboTax account fees and the TPG service charge of $40 plus any applicable sales tax? Review your TurboTax account fees - Sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/ Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on View Order Details
If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the $40 service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the $40 service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.
For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/

I copy and pasted a sentence in your link below: "The only two consumer-level desktop (downloadable/installable) tax software options for DIY filers doing 2025 U.S. federal + state returns are H&R Block and TaxAct." What's funny? I wrote almost EXACTLY THE SAME THING and posted it on THIS BOARD on numerous occasions over the past 4-5months. What do these Bots do, just scour the net for relevant information and re-post as their own? You might want to think carefully about where these bots get their data.

I'm working with TurboTax Business 2024 to file a 1041 (to be followed by filing the 2025 form). This is for a simple trust, and is not the final return. There is dividend income of $33 and professional expenses of $950 for a loss of $917.. There are three equal beneficiaries. Correct tax treatment, as I understand it, is that a loss is not "distributed" until the final return, but 2024 is insisting on distributing the loss in K-1 box 14 with Code H as income. I've verified with a CPA that, based on the transactions there should be nothing in box 14. I believe this is an error in the 2024 package.
