You can enter your K-1 yourself and just estimate the amount. Then later when you get the (late) k-1 you're waiting for, do an update/amended return. For the 2210, you won't have to guess since you know it's about $2000 for the k-1 you are waiting on just use that amount or  your closest guess. If you wait, they'll really sock it to you on the fees. Good luck!

It keeps saying that I was a part time resident of DC which I was not. How do I go about changing that so I stop getting that error?
If you did not receive a 1099-R, you should contact the plan administrator and request one.  If they do not provide it, you can prepare a substitute 1099-R in TurboTax.  Add the form an

Yes, you can return to the California state interview after you complete your nonresident state returns. TurboTax will make the necessary adjustments based on changes to those returns.   Most states have a section for income that is treated differently. Look for business income, which should include income from Schedule K-1. (I don't have a Montana return to test this.)   Yes, carryovers follow the businesses that generated the losses in prior years. You'll need to adjust the carryovers for each nonresident state to match the source of the losses.

I used Turbo Tax Deluxe online to do my taxes.  I usually take the standard deduction on my federal taxes and itemize on my Montana state taxes.  This year Turbo Tax did not let me itemize my deductions on my state taxes.  It's like it auto selected the standard deduction because that's what I chose for my federal.  I didn't realize this until after I filed and was able to actually download the forms.  Turbo Tax has denied there is any problem with their program and is completely unwilling to help.   I need to know what the best path is for correcting this error.  Although I already paid Turbo Tax they are unwilling to help.  I will probably have to pay someone else to fix this, which puts me out even more money.  Not a happy customer.
