If you electronically file, pay what you can. include a letter to the IRS asking for 60-90 days to pay the balance in full.
In TurboTax Online, file an extension by following these steps:
View the entries down the left side of the screen at Tax Tools.
Select Tools.
Select File an extension.
In addition, Free Federal tax extension is available here.

In 2024 we completely remodeled our rental property. This included new kitchen, bath, flooring, appliances, plumbing and totally painting inside and out. The house was not rented during this process, however, we were preparing it for rent after the renters destroyed it. Should the $3,000 paint job be claimed in the expenses section or should it go somewhere else?

That is correct. Because the water heater is one item, you only get one credit. If you would have purchased both a heat pump furnace and a heat pump water heater, being two separate items, you could claim 2 credits.

If you added a car (EV) credit on your tax return that is not correct you can go back and review your TurboTax screens as follows:
To review your screens in TurboTax Desktop
Go to "Deductions & Credits",
Scroll to "Cars and Other Things You Own",
click "Start or Update" next to "Energy-Efficient Vehicle"
Review your screens and make sure everything has been answered correctly
To review your screens in TurboTax Online:
"Continue where you left off"
Click on "Deductions & Credits" in the left panel of your screen
Scroll down to "Cars & Other Things You Own"
Click on the (down-facing) caret
Select "Energy-Efficient Vehicles"
Review your screens and make sure everything has been answered correctly
If you completed the screens for "Energy Efficient Vehicles"' it will be reported on Form 8936 which is included as part of your tax return. A Form 8936 and Schedule A (Form 8936) should be included with the tax return you completed using TurboTax.

Yes. You add your wife's social security to her taxes. You will enter it in the retirement section form SSA-1099. There is not a age limit for filing taxes or the type of income to include. Even if you are over 65, your social security can be taxable if you have other income. Depending on your situation, up to 85% of it is taxed.
If you fall into the following, 85% of your social security is taxable income
Single with income above $34,000
Married Filing Jointly with income above $44,000
Married Filing Separate regardless of income
If you fall into the following, 50% of your social security is taxable income
Single with combined income between $25,000-$34,000
Married Filing Jointly with combined income between $32,000 and $44,000
Your combined income is calculated by adding your
AGI plus
Nontaxable Interest plus
1/2 of your social security Benefits

If you did not take a business income deduction, your modified adjusted gross income matches your Ohio adjusted gross income.
