Where does it say that? Turbotax won't normally know anything about that.
If you are assigned an identity protection PIN by the IRS (which might happen after identity theft), you can't e-file unless you include the IP PIN on your return. You can add it on the page for "Other tax situations."
If you have already filed and you have a message from the IRS, Turbotax can't help you, that's between you and the IRS.

@kevinigreen 2) Are you sure the are not included? Did you look at line 5a of the Schedule A to see what's in that line? Things to try: 2) Edit each 1099-R and w-2. ...........Make sure the $$ withheld are in the correct state boxes .............Box 14 for the 1099-R .................Box 17 for the W-2 3) Delete either the W-2, or the 1099-R entirely. Then re-enter one of them manually and see if the state $$ show up. If that works do the same to the other form. DO NOT upload a Picture or a PDF file off either form....doing that can result in some massive errors.

Yes, that was the problem. Thank you. The browser needs for the Intuit website to have permission to connect to any device on the local network. This box appeared right after the TT message indicated that the data had been uploaded. Given that (I thought) the data had already uploaded, I blocked the permission. I had to go into the browser settings to provide permission for the Intuit website. A message on the TT upload screen indicating that permission would be necessary would have been helpful. Thanks again.

Where do I find my AGI?
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/agi/help/how-do-i-find-last-year-s-agi/01/25947
Your 2024 tax return shows your 2024 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) If you filed a joint return then the AGI is the same for each of you.
Form 1040 line 11
If entering the amount from your 2024 tax return does not work, then try entering “0” instead. If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.
You can get a free transcript of your past return from the IRS:
https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
Note: If you filed late or amended your return, your correct 2024 AGI may not be in the system.
https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1944348-how-do-i-print-and-mail-my-return-in-turbotax-online
Note: If you mail your federal return, you will also need to mail your state return. You will not be able to e-file your state return.

We cannot see your screen, your return or your account. Have you entered ALL of your 2025 information? All your income, etc.? Many tax documents that you need do not arrive until late January or even February, so maybe you do not have it all there yet.
There are a lot of variables that affect your refund or tax due including how much you earned, how much tax you had withheld, your filing status, the number of dependents you claim, your deductions and credits, etc. You may have lost Earned Income Credit or the Child Tax Credit— did a child turn 17? If you received the EIC last year, remember that changes in the amount you earn have a big effect on the amount of EIC you can get. (Sometimes earning more money means less EIC) Did you have any “side gigs” like rideshare driving or delivery driving—-with no tax withheld? Are you 65 or older ? If so, your standard deduction is higher. Everyone has a higher standard deduction now so it is harder to use itemized deductions.
And of course, always check your own data entries, looking for errors such as misplaced decimals or extra zeros.

Describe this as Qualified Overtime Income deduction
Then enter the amount of the overtime premium as a negative number.
Keep documentation proving your overtime premium in case if it is needed in case if you are questioned by the IRS.

It sounds like you were rejected for your AGI which is on line 11 of your 2024 Form 1040.
If it was rejected for AGI—-your 2024 AGI might not be in the IRS system if you filed late. Try using zero instead.
If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year. The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.

I have (or thought I had) imported data from two financial institutions (Baird and Ameriprise) but the data has not shown up! The process is a little different this year. one is directed away from TT, the necessary identifiers input. The screen goes all wavy while the transfer is happening then it says something to the effect that TT has our data and we can return to TT. In my case, nothing shows up in my return! I have imported from Baird before but not Ameriprise. The Baird identifiers are familiar. I have had dialogue with AI help. They talked about the import file may be corrupt (but how would I ever find out about that)? They also said to ensure my software is up to date, so I uninstalled and reinstalled and updated - no dice! Is this a problem with the program this year? How do I reach the conclusion I must manualy input?

That does seem like an unusually high refund. Check all of the amounts you entered and look for misplaced decimals and/or extra zeros. If you put an amount in wrong it could affect everything else.

One of us is probably confused. If you are an employee with a W-2, your 401k contributions are automatically subtracted from your box 1 taxable wages, and they are reported in box 12. Turbotax automatically captures them from your W-2. You do not enter them anywhere else on your tax return. A 401k is NOT an IRA and you should not enter 401k contributions in the IRA section. 401k contributions also don't have anything to do with schedule 1 as far as I know. Can you clarify, where are you seeing an adjustment on schedule 1?

If I leave them blank the entries don't match the entries in the W-2. Is that ok? I'm afraid it will be rejected. I'm asking because I'm a new Texas resident (moved in mid 2025). I've never prepared my income taxes in TX. The following is what the W-2 shows so I filled them out exactly as shown. That's what Turbotax flags. It says that it needs an employer ID number. Box 15 State | Employer's state ID number TX | Box 16 State wages, tips etc $6,970 Box 17 State income tax
