My college student is at a school that does not offer a meal plan but offers housing/dorm. He does reside in their dorms. The school offers housing but no meal plans. So there is no meal plan cost to compare the expenses to.   Can I still deduct the meals that he purchases during the school year while living in the dorms? Is there a max amount?

I am entering my business Schedule C information for 2024 and the Cost of Sales portsion is not being recognized. I enter it, and the summary shows it as 0, and the amount is not reflected in the Net Income. This is creating a large error on the amounts and my refund. I have updated the software and it has not changed. Can someone please help me get this corrected?    I sent the agent file, the token is 81266408-35533262.
Thanks...

None of your 457(b) contributions are deductible on your tax return.  They are either pre-tax contributions excluded by your employer from the amount they report in box 1 of your W-2 or they are nondeductible contributions.   Your 457(b) contributions might qualify you for a Retirement Savings Contributions Credit depending on your circumstances.  After you visit the section of TurboTax for this credit, TurboTax will automatically determine the credit.   I'm not sure what you mean by "we" pay into a 457 retirement account.  A 457(b) account belongs to an individual employee.  Each employee would have an account that receives contributions on behalf of only that employee.

I don’t know when that section will be ready but you can probably enter it using the Forms mode.  Click on Forms in the upper left for Mac.

If your daughter used your account and your user ID to prepare a tax return after you had prepared your own return, her return overwrote yours---and sorry--yours is lost.   Your account was not "de-activated"---but she destroyed your return and it is gone now.    When you use online TurboTax you get one return per fee.       When you use online TurboTax software you get one return per fee.   Each return needs its own account and user ID.   If you use the same account and user ID for a second return, the second one overwrites the first return and it is lost forever.       https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/using-turbotax/help/how-do-i-start-another-return-in-turbotax-online/00/25596

I'm planning to execte a large Roth conversion before the end of 2025 and want to simulate my taxes for various conversion amounts, but the section for IRA withdrawals (1099-R) tells me it will be "Available Soon" in the Mac desktop software. Any idea when I'm likely to be able to do my project? Thank you!
