I already went through the options in that thread, before I wrote my post. - They are attaching PDF files, so I assume they are using browser. I am using desktop version. I didn't attach anything. -  I tried changing the security settings discussed (as I said in my post), they didn't help. -  I saved, closed, reopened TT, ran update (none found). That didn't help. Q: Is there a way to reduce the size of the file that TT is uploading in the Desktop edition? What do I try next?

My hero (or heroine).   It was not easy to find, but your link did show me how to file an extension and pay estimated taxes.  If not for you link, I would not have found it.  I worked on the fires in California this year, and I'm blessed with making some extra money, so my tax obligation went up.    I owe you a beer.  We are in Asheville now, soon to head up to Queens (both family visits), then back to California with a brief stop at Amtrak in Chicago.
If I am correctly understanding, form 8959 is for incomes over $200K. Why would one be filed for someone making below $50K? Was this an error? Any insight will be greatly appreciated!

Is there a summary page like in the IRS Pub. 584 workbook where I can list each of the items instead of doing a new form for each item?  Because TT asks for a date item is acquired, I don't think we are supposed to "roll up" the items on the IRS Pub. 584 workbook Schedules 1-19 (e.g., Schedule 1 is Entrance Hall). Why doesn't TT have a question like "Is the address the same for each property item?"?

This is the first time I am dealing with option contracts trading activity reports in TurboTax Premier. I started option trading last year.   Can anyone provide guidance or explain how to report the information from my broker to the information requested by TurboTax or on IRS Form 6781?   Second, I would like to report the transaction fees for a stock transaction, as seen at the bottom of the attached file. I believe there is a place for this in TurboTax.   Mahalo.

Why does my TT account say I still owe tax due?   TT does not update after your return has been accepted.  Your account will always show the result of the return you prepared using the software.  TurboTax never knows if you received your refund —or how, when or even if you paid tax due.  Your proof that you paid your tax will be your own bank/credit card records.
The filing deadline for an LLC partnership was March 17.   It is now too late to file an extension. You should file ASAP to minimize late filing penalties.

I checked my transcript today on the IRS site (helping my daughter with her return) and noticed the letter posted by the IRS today, April 15th. My own return was filed early this morning (April 15th) and it's already been accepted by the IRS (also on April 15th). Is this normal for the IRS to post this as if I haven't filed yet? The text of the letter reads: "On April 15, 2025, we received a request for verification of non-filing of a tax return. As of the date of this letter, we have no record of a processed tax return for the tax period listed above. If you have any questions, you can call 800-829-1040."

Well, I can't get my test to do the same thing, but there are a number of variables, and my test return is surely not the same as yours.   In any case, yes, do enter Self for line 1 on the 8889, and if you have to make month-by-month entries in the Review after that, then, yes, for Line 3, A1 through A12, answer NONE every chance you get.   If you see the request to enter Self/Family/None on Line 18, then come back and tell me because that means something else. Line 18 is for the coverage month-by-month that you had in 2023.
