Figured it out myself finally. TurboTax could have made this easier but at least I figured it out.
You can add the expenses for your business in Schedule C.
Here's how to do this in TurboTax Online:
Thank you for your response. The file path you indicate "Federal > Wages & Income > Self-employment income and expenses" does not appear for me even though I have a 1099-NEC. That is the problem I am trying to solve. Any ideas?
Your problem could be caused by how you entered the Form 1099-C. First delete the form and then re-enter the information as a Schedule C. Once you delete the form and re-enter it correctly, you should be able to see the steps that MindyB mentioned.
