I need to see my actual depreciation schedule ( what items were listed). My husband always did the taxes and he has passed away.

I need to know the actual list of items/equipment he inputed.   I see the amount on form 4562, Line 17 MACRS.  I need help finding out the original info....

There will be a Depreciation and Amortization Report that lists all of the assets entered, the date they were placed in service, the reported cost of the asset, the total depreciation taken and the current depreciation for the tax year of the report.

Using the TurboTax desktop editions, continue the tax return for the year in question.  Click on Forms.  When in Forms mode, on the left side of the screen, the report will be listed.  Click to open the report.

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

The actual Form 4562 that is filed with your return is just a Summary of the Depreciation for the current year and only lists out the new assets and not the prior the items. You may have a 4562 Depreciation and Amortization Report which does list all the items including fully depreciated items.

If you don't have the 4562 Depreciation and Amortization Report or need more info you need the Asset Life History. The history is only available in the Desktop program not the Online version. If you are using the Online version you would have to download your .tax2023 file and open it in the desktop program.

Using the Desktop program you can get an Asset Life History worksheet but you have to do it in Forms Mode, click Forms in the upper right (upper left for Mac) You can't get detailed worksheet showing all the assets but you can get the Asset Life History on each one. It doesn't print out with your return or save in the pdf. So you have to print each Asset Life History individually.

If not done already, save the tax return in PDF format, and elect to save "everything". Not just the forms required for filing, and not just the forms for your records. Save everything in PDF format.
Then open that saved PDF file and do a search of that file for "4562".  You'll have several hits on that search. You will find 3 form 4562's for each rental property. One prints in portrait format and that's the one filed with your tax return. The other two print in landscape format. One is titled "Depreciation and Amortization Report" and is most likely the one you want/need. The other is titled "Alternative Minimum Tax Depreciation Report". Most likely, it's not the one you need. But it's important to use the correct one. The first one will definitely have all the assets individually  listed along with the date placed in service, cost basis, and other information you will need.
