What was the outcome??
I filed 2/21/25 and have not moved from the pending status. TT says "Your Federal e-file is currently pending, which means that we have your tax return but it has not yet been filed and accepted"
Why have they not filed my return, that seems really odd?
Is everyone still having the same issue? Or if it has cleared how long did it actually take?
I submitted Friday, 2-21 72 hours later, still pending. I called TT and they say to wacard. Cannot believe them when they tell me they have not heard of this happening. I will give it a few days and then just print the completed forms and mail them with checks (I owe, no refunds for me). Also, I will stop payment to TT on my credit card. This was.my first time using TT and obviously will be my last.
What does Where's My Refund say?
Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing of your return or the release of your refund.
Here are a couple FAQs to track your refund:
When will I get my federal tax refund?
How do I track my state refund?
Why does Where's My Refund say "approved" but TurboTax still says "accepted"?
Why do some refunds take longer than others?
What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?
If you read my message you will see it says I am jot due a refund, I owe money, THerefore, I am not able to check "Where's my refund." I tried but it will not accept a refund amount of 0.
I went ahead and filed with a competitor and my return was accepted within ten minutes. Meanwhile, TUrbo Tax is still pending... Screw them
This is a big problem because I have no dependents and 1 job W2 the hold is crazy mad is not the word
As CatinaT1 mentions above, you can use this IRS tool Where's My Refund? to check on the status of your refund. It provides updates regarding the processing of your tax return. This is the best way to track the status of your refund.
You can also call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday.
The hold on processing tax returns due to the Path Act is only for tax returns claiming the Earned Income Credit and the Additional Child Tax Credit.
When you e-file your tax return with TurboTax and choose direct deposit, the IRS should notify you that your return has been accepted within one or two days.
After your tax return has been "Accepted" by the IRS it will be" Processing" until the tax refund has been "Approved" and then you will see an Issue Date on the IRS website.

Mines was pending. After seeing all the messages O just filed with a different software and it was accepted within seconds and I received a higher refund based off all the exact same information.
You can stop. Because time will tell once this lawsuit comes out! It’s coming. 🤦🏾♀️🫣
If the state or federal entity that TT is transmitting the return to doesn't receive it, it is a TT issue. All computers when exchanging information between different systems use EDI (Electronic Data Interchange). If the receiving party of data (in this case federal or state) shows no record of the incoming data, then the problem is on the senders end (in this case TT). I am painfully aware of how EDI works in that we use it in my business and there are occasional issues. They almost always require IT intervention to figure out what went wrong.
What's frustrating about Turbotax is that they do not acknowledge this. Even when you beg them to put an IT person on the case to solve it, they ignore you.
I say this from current personal experience in that my state return to the state of Oregon is hung up in a pending status (Fed went through just fine). I have contacted the State of Oregon and spoken to multiple people on their end and they cannot "see" the return. The data transmission issue is clearly on Turbo Taxes end.
Why Turbo Tax wont let their IT personnel get involved is beyond me. It is such a simple fix, that would go miles in taking care of their customers.
There is a known issue with the Foreign income tax paid affecting the OR returns. Currently, OR tax returns with this specific situation are being put on hold until the fix this week. If your return includes that type of situation, your return will probably be rejected so that you can fix the issue and resubmit.
I appreciate your reply. It's the first one that makes sense. I have had many conversations with folks at Turbo Tax and they didn't have any idea what was going on.
I am going to assume this is what is affecting my return in that about an hour ago my Oregon return was finally rejected. The rejection contained the following message:
-------
"Description of error:
There is a pending product update that impacts your Oregon return.
What needs to be done:
There was an issue with the Oregon Return that is preventing the return from being e-filed.
A product update will be available on Thursday 3/27/2025 that will fix this issue.
On or after this date please log back into the product and get the latest updates (TurboTax Online does this automatically). Then revisit the Oregon return, run through review and re-transmit the return.
If the reject continues, you may want to file this return via U.S> Mail: print and mail it to the appropriate taxing authority."
--------
I did review my Oregon return and cant find anything on it that mentions a foreign tax. That being said my federal one does have some minor foreign tax amounts associated with some mutual funds I have. I am hoping that this is creating the headache and the fix being implemented by the 27th will fix this.
I don't know if this is considered late, but I filed on 4/,1 and it has been three days. I checked the IRS site, and it says I haven't filed. However, they do say they can take up to 21 days to process files. I read through the thread and people were getting accepted 4 to five days out, hopefully mine sget accepted soon so I won't have to be stressed out.
Usually it takes the IRS 24-48 hours to accept a tax return, but can sometimes take a bit longer. The IRS website will not show anything regarding your return until it is actually accepted.
For more information on their process, please see this TurboTax Tax Tips Guide: Where's My Tax Refund? The IRS Refund Timetable Explained
You can check your filing status by following these instructions: TurboTax Tools: Where's my Refund?
You can also use the IRS tool Where's My Refund to check if your e-filed return has been received.
What ended up happening? I submitted mine 3 days ago and it’s still pending. Today is the deadline! I didn’t file late so I hope I’m not penalized
