It is not unusual for your return to stay in pending status for several days sometimes longer depending on the back log of returns filed and time it takes for the IRS to process them. Keep checking the IRS Where’s My Refund? site for updates. The tool is updated daily (usually in the overnight hours) so you don’t need to check more often. Please see the TurboTax FAQ What does "Pending" mean? for additional information.
Same here. It was submitted on the 27th at noon. My first time ever waiting this long. Sucks!
I filed on the 18th. I have never had it stay in a pending status more than a day. Refund tracker on the IRS website says "The information you have provided does not match our records". Starting to get kind of mad.
One turbo tax rep told me that my return had not been transmitted yet and it would after the 48hr mark. I called back today, and that TT rep said it had been. I don’t know who to believe but I know that I will not be using TT next year. There’s a lot of other people with the same issue. I think it is a TT problem but they don’t want to admit it. Too many with the same issue.
same issue, says pending, filed on 1/25
They are most likely back logged and it’s not rational to think that one million plus tax returns are all going to be accepted within 48 hours of them starting to accept returns. You do realize we’re talking about millions of returns right?
@ash1213ley it could possibly be the amount you’re entering. I think I was either entering my overall total, including my state return amount, or I was only entering my federal amount, but they wanted the overall amount, one or the other im not sure exactly right now but either way, it might be the amount you’re entering is off so make sure you’re entering the exact amount it says on your return or it will say their records don’t match everytime
I appreciate the help but I live in FL. We have no state tax. I've verified my total and even looked at the actual return to make sure my social was correct (even though this is my 9th year using turbotax so my info wouldn't of changed).
I feel like there must be some issue,I just don't appreciate the lack of communication about it from turbos side.
Millions of e-files have been backlogged on servers for weeks. This week the IRS began to accept/reject e-files. When yours makes it through that pipeline, you will get an email.
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?
I'm reading some people went and filed with a different provider and theirs were accepted within 24 hours. This is a Turbo Tax issue.
I efiled on 1/29/25. I've NEVER stayed in pending status more than 24hours. I'm very nervous and concerned. What is going on?
I filed 1/23 and am still in pending status, I have called the IRS and they said there is no way it has transmitted because they always get accepted within 48 hours. I called TT twice one said it just sitting there with no holds not sure what is going call back in 48 hours, I did. Called a second time told me well this is unusual the irs is on backlog give it 48 hours so here I sit! I am NOT happy!
I had been monitoring this situation and apparently, most people who filed before or the same day (some) the IRS opened their portal for submission had the same problem. I have never had a situation before with TT, I have been using it for more than 7 years without any issue. This year I went ahead and submitted my Taxes (Jan 19th) before the IRS date and still pending (Feb 1st - today). Then I helped some friends to do theirs on Jan 29th and (both) were e-filed and accepted the next day.
Does anyone from TT know what is going on, besides "keep waiting" after almost 10 days?
I would appreciate the clarification for all of us.
Mine has been pending since 1/23/25. Just filed on TaxAct, and it's already been accepted by the IRS. This happened to me last year on Turbo Tax. Will not be using it again.
