Your tax return could only have been "accepted" on February 11---not 'approved." There is a difference between "accepted" and "approved." Only the IRS can approve your refund.

There have been LOTS of delays for 2020 refunds due to the backlog at the IRS:
From this IRS website - https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-operations-during-covid-19-mission-critical-functions-continue
As of May 15, 2021, we had 300,000 individual tax returns received prior to 2021 in the processing pipeline. Including current year returns, as of May 15, 2021, we had 16.4 million unprocessed individual returns in the pipeline. Unprocessed returns include those requiring correction to the Recovery Rebate Credit amount or validation of 2019 income used to figure the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC). This work does not require us to correspond with taxpayers but does require special handling by an IRS employee so, in these instances, it is taking the IRS more than 21 days to issue any related refund. If, as a result, a correction is made to any RRC, EITC or ACTC claimed on the return, the IRS will send taxpayers an explanation. Taxpayers are encouraged to continue to check Where’s My Refund? for their personalized refund status and can review Tax Season Refund Frequently Asked Questions.

The IRS will not talk to TurboTax about anyone's tax return. TurboTax cannot legally intercede with the IRS to find out anything about your refund. You paid to use do-it-yourself software, which you used. TT cannot find out about your refund. Only the IRS can tell you.
To call the IRS:IRS: 800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Mon-Fri
Listen to each menu before making the selection.
First choose your language. Press 1 for English.
Then do NOT choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
Instead, press 2 for "personal income tax".
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions." It should then transfer you to an agent.
And if you use the H&R Block software to file your tax return, they also cannot legally contact the IRS on your behalf. Nor can any other tax preparation software company contact the IRS on the behalf of the user of the software.
TT did their job by providing a DIY tax program that you can use to prepare a tax return that can be filed either electronically or by mail. Once that is done the DIY program has no legal obligations to help you with the IRS even if you bought the Audit Protection since the return is not being audited just processed.
Okay so turbo tax should of verified who I was? Yes I have been accepted feb. 11 approved after that then had to call and verify myself with the irs because turbo tax doesn't verify me? Not understanding. So for a week I called the irs to verify myself and still processing. Talked to someone at turbo tax and they couldn't apologize enough for not doing there job of verification. So help understand?
I have done all of this. I don't expect turbo tax to call for me but I shouldn't have received a letter from the irs to verify myself if thats what turbo tax should have done?
@Danielle21 Do you mean you got a letter from the IRS asking you to verify your identity? That is NOT something TurboTax can do for you. You have to do that yourself. Sometimes the IRS requests identity verification randomly and sometimes there is something on your return that triggers them to make the request. TurboTax cannot verify your identity for you. TurboTax is only a software program----the software program cannot know if you are really who you say you are or if you put something fraudulent on your tax return. Until you follow up and provide the IRS with the information they have requested from you, you will not receive your refund.
