Please check the IRS website for your stimulus check. You need to know if:
1. You paid for your return before filing or
2. Did you have the fees taken from your refund or get the Green Dot debit card
If #1, the stimulus check will go to your bank account directly from the IRS.
If #2, the stimulus check will go to SBTPG/Green Dot and then be routed to you. My understanding is an additional 1-2 days. You may contact Green Dot at 888-285-4169.
You may check the status of your payment at IRS.gov/GetMyPayment.
TurboTax has NO control over your stimulus check, nor can TT track it or tell you when you will receive it. The IRS will use the same banking information for the 2nd stimulus that they used for the first one. If that account (or card) is closed then the stimulus will go back to the IRS and they will mail you a check.

How do I find out if the IRS is sending me a payment?
People can check the status of both their first and second payments by using the Get My Payment tool, available in English and Spanish only on IRS.gov. The tool is being updated with new information, and the IRS anticipates the tool will be available again in a few days for taxpayers.
How will the IRS know where to send my payment? What if I changed bank accounts?
The IRS will use the data already in our systems to send the new payments. Taxpayers with direct deposit information on file will receive the payment that way. For those without current direct deposit information on file, they will receive the payment as a check or debit card in the mail. For those eligible but who don’t receive the payment for any reason, it can be claimed by filing a 2020 tax return in 2021. Remember, the Economic Impact Payments are an advance payment of what will be called the Recovery Rebate Credit on the 2020 Form 1040 or Form 1040-SR.
Where can I get more information?
For more information about Economic Impact Payments and the 2020 Recovery Rebate, key information will be posted on IRS.gov/eip You may check the status of your payment at IRS.gov/GetMyPayment. For other COVID-19-related tax relief, visit IRS.gov/Coronavirus.

Thank you! I did get the filing fee taken out when I filed. I tried calling that bank but it said I called the wrong number when I entered my ss and bday.
Well, there is some good news today. You may be getting the stimulus check finally. Please see:
Is My Second Stimulus Check on the way?
If you are not satisfied, then you may contact Green Dot:
Ok so here's a good one for you. We used Turbotax last year as we have the past several years. We received the first stimulus check direct deposited on April 15th absolutely fine. How this time were STILL waiting. I've looked at the IRS.gov/eip webpage and there is no information provided. Further troubling, when I enter my wife's, she doesn't exist. Even though we have filed joint with the same address for the past 15 years. I received the form email stating there was a problem and then that the problem was fixed from turbotax regarding the EIP 2 payment.
Our AIG for 2019 was $42,627, joint filers, with 3 dependants. We qualify. What the hell is going on ! Try to figure this one out !!
We are happy to share that stimulus payments began to be deposited starting January 8th and will continue through January 15. Your payment will be deposited into the same bank account that you received your 2019 tax refund.
For more information about stimulus payments, please go here.
If for some reason you do not receive your stimulus, you can have it added to your refund. The IRS does not begin accepting returns until January 25 so all stimulus should have been received by then.
Please wait until you are certain there is no second payment, then you can follow these steps, if necessary.
After you have entered your tax information and are ready for the Federal Review, stimulus will be the first question.
If you are trying to trigger it:
The program will determine the missing amount and add it to your refund.
I pray that you are right. We are fighting off loosing our home, loosing our vehicles, and keeping the electric and heat on. Fortunately my wife and I work part time for the local schools. And of course we all know they have had so much going on these days !
So again, I pray you are right.
Who is going to fix this when we don't get it ? Because as of Friday there wasn't anything coming, that's per my credit union. Will TurboTax come bail us out ? Because what I am reading is we will need to file for a credit. We don't have that much time to wait for a credit. We don't receive our W2s will end of March. This is total BS.
I am having the same issue! Every time I check the GetMyPayment it says status not available. I cannot wait until I file my taxes because that stimulus is needed now to pay off bills. When I filed my 2019 taxes (March 2020), I didn’t get a refund until November 2020. I CANNOT wait that long to get a second stimulus payment.
Agree with the level of frustration my friend ! That's what I'm thinking there will probably be some form of class-action material. I had to stall creditor's yet another week already because on Friday I called to see if anything was pending for the credit union 8-9-10-11 and nothing. The IRS says my wife doesn't even exist !!
This hole pandemic true or fake has cost me my business and is causing us so much un nessary stress and anxiety. And this hole thing isn't helping at all !
On Friday we had the following announcement:
We are happy to share that stimulus payments will begin to be deposited on January 8th for millions of our customers affected by the IRS error. We expect most of these payments to be available that day, but banks could take a few business days to process. Payment will be deposited into the same bank account that customers received their 2019 tax refund.
Customers receiving a stimulus payment will receive an email from TurboTax letting them know their stimulus payment is on the way.We have been working tirelessly with the Treasury and IRS to get stimulus payments to our customers. We know how important these funds are for so many Americans and we regret that an IRS error caused a delay.
Please note the following page for additional information: Why Haven’t I Received My Second Stimulus Check?
Given that it may take a couple of business days to reflect in the account, you may not yet see it reflected in yours. The same is true with the IRS website: it may take a day or two to reflect this change. But it is being processed and should be there soon.
We do appreciate that many of our customers depend on having these funds available, and we are working diligently to make this happen.
Thanks for all the positive information and feedback. However here's another wrench in the wheel of this situation.
We, my wife and I, received the first stimulus payment via direct deposit not a problem. As I mentioned my wife and I file joint. we have shared an address for 15 years. I tried looking into our EIP and of course mine didn't show anything. Entering my wife's showed an error. Then I tried avery old address, were talking 10 years. And guess what, it says her first EIP was deposited the same as mine. But the 2nd was mailed on the 6th of January !! But where to and why mailed. How the hell are we going to get it !! And again when I enter my I to it says nothing ... So we want it direct deposited ...
I used the free version of TurboTax and received my first stimulus payment with no problem! The second stimulus payment has not come and IRS status says not available. I’m so frustrated because TurboTax doesn’t let you speak with a live agent unless you upgrade. Not doing it. I also never received a email or any correspondence from TurboTax letting me know where my second stimulus payment is.

If you used the Refund Processing Service to have the TurboTax account fees paid from your federal tax refund, then see the information on this SBTPG website - https://www.sbtpg.com/coronavirus-stimulus-payment-info/
Only the IRS controls when and if a stimulus payment is distributed.
Go to this IRS get my payment website - https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment
If you do not receive any other stimulus payments by January 15, 2021, then the stimulus payment for which you are eligible to receive will be entered on your 2020 federal tax return as a tax credit on Form 1040 Line 30.
The TurboTax program will ask about stimulus payments in the Federal Review section of the program.
@BunkerLoomis Understand that what you describe is really an IRS depositing issue. We are aware that some clients who received their initial stimulus via direct deposit reflect on the IRS website as receiving a check for their second payment. We don't have information in this forum to address anyone's specific situation. However, we can state that both direct deposit to a bank account or the IRS' website may take a few business days to reflect, and since this announcement came on Friday, it may take until Monday or Tuesday to see it one way or another. In a worst-case scenario where the IRS cannot direct deposit nor send a check in the mail, then the option will be to claim the stimulus as additional refund on the tax return.
