What does "Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available." Exactly mean?

OMG....Anybody still waiting on their refunds??? I've efile it on February, and got 60 days review letter on may 23, I called and told me wait till sept20, and yea, still nothing, no notice no nothing. what should I do now. I didn't even get the stimulus yet too

Yes they sent mine in June and they forgot the extra child tax credit!  They still owe me.  I had to file an amended tax return in July!  Nothing yet...they said it takes 4 months which is ridiculous!  That's a long time!! It'll be Thanksgiving before i see anything...  What a rip!

I used Turbo tax for years never had a problem. This year I guess I filled out the health form and now I am still waiting on my refund. Here is is the end of Sept and nothing. Every time I call they tell me to call back after a certain date. Called again today and the man said it looks like the found the errors but still can’t give me a date. All I want is my money. I will probably go somewhere else next year.

I filed 2019 taxes and they owe me alot but im still waiting that was march of last year so at the moment i waiting on two years of taxes instead of one

@Dpharry What?  What do you mean by "two years of taxes..."  Do you mean you put income from 2018 and 2019 on the same tax Form 1040?  And your filed it in March?  If that is what you did, it is not surprising that you are still waiting.  Putting income from more than one year on the same tax return is a huge mistake.  Each year has to be prepared and filed separately using the forms and software for each specific tax year.

Or do you mean you filed a 2018 tax return LAST year in 2019 and did not ever get your refund?  If so, what have you done so far to track it down?  

Please explain more clearly what you did, and when and how you filed 2018 and 2019.

Yes and no i did not combine the two they said i had identity fraud last year and the wheres my refund dissappeared for my return so the padamic hit and here i am three phone calls to even get the identity people to clear 2018 return and i had to mail this years still waiting on both and stimulus payment

It is not at all clear what your problem is with the 2018 return or what steps--if any-- you have taken to track it down. Were you supposed to verify your identity with the IRS and did not follow up and do so? Did the IRS send you a letter last year about verifying your identity?  

And as for your 2019 mailed return---the IRS is working on opening over 11 million pieces of mail that piled up in trailers during the pandemic.  Your 2019 return may still be in that pile.

The IRS can look at your 2018 or 2019 return to issue a stimulus check.  If they do not have a 2018 return then you may be waiting for them to finish processing 2019 before they will be able to use it to issue your stimulus check.

TurboTax has no control over your stimulus check, nor can TT track it for you or tell you when the IRS will issue it. Refer to the sites linked below:

To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product.

After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.

Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.

I am talking to rep's every week and I hear same answer, no updates call after 1 week for more updates. I am doing this from July 2nd week :(

It's kind of black box what is happening within IRS sadly. I wish at least I get my refunds within this month
