Because of all the “drops” people are doing (it’s also called fraud- people use dead people’s info or steal other people’s identities ) banks are cracking down... the big name banks anyways... as for credit unions and military accounts those are different I believe.... military accounts allow it usually if you have the same last name as the person or if your listed as a spouse or sibling in the account.. it does not have to be a joint account to have an authorized person on the account with specific types of accounts but if your an authorized person then the bank can allow it but now days things aren’t the same like they use to be..,. I’m with Wells Fargo and I even had to have a joint account with my husband in order for him to deposit his paycheck into the account.. the bank manager told me without him on the account it wouldn’t be allowed especially if the check is from a different bank then Wells Fargo... things are sooooo complicated now it seems
Has it always been Wednesday and Fridays mainly? I hear some people who have got them mondays or Tuesday. For deposits
on Wednesdays or Friday’s I do hear most commonly.
How do I get my actual date for direct deposit refund? I claimed the child act credit and it is saying to check mid February and it’s after, so any idea of a date?
TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer. “21 days” is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2022 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

OR——if you filed by mail, expect a long wait. It is taking the very backlogged IRS six to nine months to process mailed returns. Until a human opens your envelope and enters the data into the system, nothing will even show up on the refund site, so you will have to be very patient.
If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act. Do not expect your refund earlier than late February.

At the IRS 'Where's My Refund?' link, the IRS will tell you the date that your Refund has been sent to your bank. The bank may actually take a few days to post it to your account.
Will the bank see any pending deposit?
@Chin13 Ask your bank. If the IRS refund site says the refund has been issued.....remember that the IRS also tells you to allow up to five business days for the deposit to post to your account.
