Your bank will no allow the deposit to go into your account if your husbands name is not on the account also. The bank will reject the deposit and then your husband will have to wait for the funds to be sent back to the IRS and then they will issue him a paper check to be sent in the mail via USPS (Regular postal service). I only know this because my mother in law had this issue and luckily she added her fiance to the account before it was sent so there was no issue. The bank told her that all banking institutions work this way and will not allow deposits with out the receiving party being listed on the account because it would be a form or fraud and anyone could take someone elses money. Hope this helps someone avoid this from happening. I know this post is old but im sure someone else will have the same issue.
I have checks deposited to my husband's bank account all the time and my name is not on the account so this shouldn't be a problem. However some banks may not allow this. Check with your bank to find out. Hope this helps! 🙂
I have had my joint tax refund deposited to my husband's bank account for the last 5 years and never had any issues. The account is in his name only. I also have my checks deposited direct deposit into his account. However some banks may not allow this so maybe give yours a call. Best wishes!
you have taken my credit card and sent the tax out of there, where should I look for my refund and how much will it be?
Only the IRS will know exactly when you will receive your refund.
You can track your return by checking the Where's My Refund website located here.
If you elected to have your fees deducted from your refund, the IRS will send your return to Santa Barbara Bank, where they will deduct the fees and then deposit any remaining refund into your account.
You can track your refund at the Santa Barbara website by clicking here.
You can view the amount of your refund when logging into Turbo Tax.
It doesn't matter who's name the account is in it will still go in and post
Filed on Sunday direct deposit Tues and I have paid back personal loans with my refund which was direct deposit into their account bank will not reject an IRS deposit.
Where is my refund? I efiled on Feb. 27, and received a IRS reply on the same day, accepting my efile. The IRS is shorthanded, which may delay the refunds.
TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS once they have accepted your return. You can track your refund with the IRS Where’s My Refund link https://www.irs.gov/refunds.
For the time being, the IRS is putting all of its efforts into the details of the stimulus payments. Once they have that all figured out, they will resume processing and issuing refunds. The only thing to do right now is to wait. You should be hearing something back soon.
Well I receive SSI and I really like for the IRS to give a date when people like me will get are stimulus check to be deposit in are checking account.
There is no specific day of the week on which the IRS transmits direct deposits.
You can check for an estimated date for your economic impact payment here: Get my Payment. If no status is currently available for you, it does not mean you will not get a payment. The tool is still being updated nightly.
You can check to tool up to once per day to see if your status has been updated, and once the IRS has determined the best way to send a payment to you and set a date for it to transmit, you will find that information on their site.
