I submitted my refund and amendment through turbo tax (3/28/22 and 4/1/22 respectively); I had to do an amendment because I forgot about the federal relief credit we got. I got a letter from the IRS saying it would take up to 6 weeks to get my amended return... also in early April. I still haven't gotten it yet and it's June 11, 2022. When I check the IRS website, they got my original return but not my amendment, even though the turbo tax site states I submitted the amendment on 1 April.
Can someone please assist me or is the IRS so severely incompetent and overwhelmed? I payed for MAX coverage and I cannot get assistance via the turbo tax phoneline or a live chat to understand where my hard earned money is located.
Please assist,
Tom
@ThaddeusP - the IRS is overwhelmed - you just have to be patient.... think 6-12 months for amendments.
Status of Processing Form 1040-X, Amended Individual Tax Return: As of June 4, 2022, we had 2.1 million unprocessed Forms 1040-X. We are processing these returns in the order received and are working hard to get through the inventory. The current timeframe can be more than 20 weeks instead of up to 16. Please don't file a second tax return or contact the IRS about the status of your amended return. Taxpayers should continue to check Where's My Amended Return? for the most up to date processing status available.
@ThaddeusP Yikes, you didn't need to amend for that. The IRS will automatically adjust your original return if you got the wrong amount on line 30 or 28. If fact you should not amend until the first return if fully processed and you got the first refund or paid the tax due.
The IRS is taking a long time this year. Keep waiting. It might be 6 months or more.
Same thing happening here, wouldn't be surprised if they debit us all and still subtract from the refund later, I'm going to be watching mine. My account has been over drafted twice now and the bill hasn't even gone down. When I can afford to pay I'm definitely calling in and getting the $60 they've already taken off of the final bill. This is ridiculous more business than ever thanks to COVID-19 and more people filing online and this is how they're going to treat us.... After all these are unprecedented times, are they not? Where's the humanity? Not a good look for you TurboTax. We're all in the same boat so show some customer loyalty.
Did you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund?
Your tax refund was not sent to TurboTax. TurboTax does not handle your refund at all.
Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.
You can contact them SBTPG, toll-free, at 1-877-908-7228 or go to their secure website www.sbtpg.com

Class Action Lawsuit we should all do against Turbo Tax for the charges made directly to our bank account!!!!
So why charge for supposedly add-ons to simplify the IRS without errors...so they should just keep on fee for all... obviously IRS doesn't provide information out to TT but they sure carry on over to them with supposedly no errors....right!!!
But this is totally different then what you claim...1million customers are delayed on man power of the IRS not because of taxpayers errors!!!
That's absolutely unjust! Unfair! And not acceptable! Most people don't know this policy when they file with TurboTax ! They did that to me too and next year I won't use turbolies anymore!
I haven’t used them in 3 years and my taxes make sense now. I only have been paying $60 for simple form. Which TurboTax was charging me $250+
They did this to me and my return is still processing. I am trying to figure out where it says on the page where we select fees that they can do this (since all binding agreements need to disclose all information up front) but they can't provide it to me. I definitely will not be using TurboTax going forward. This is dishonest and unprofessional. I learned that they have been fighting to keep making taxes more difficult to file straight through the irs so people will have to continue to use their service as well. Seems pretty low life to me and I will be rolling up my sleeves to do my own taxes next year and not giving this company another dime.
@Jennivibez See this TurboTax support FAQ for payment of the account fees when you selected to have the fees paid from the federal tax refund and the refund has been delayed - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/intuit-account-billing/bank-account-auto...
Yea they was doing this to me last year. It was easier to use them this year, but next year. I'm using cashapp. My little brother used them this year he stop using turbotax. Free is free with cashapp. I asked how much he paid, he said how much wait. Now I'm lost what did they charge you to do your taxes, he said nothing no fees at all, plus the irs website have no fees. Cashapp doing 5 or 6 days for your refund or it might be 5 or 6 days earlier can't remember 100%.
Hi. I am in the same predicament. Can't find my copy anywhere. I hope this wasn't a scam.
